Wow! We hit over 800 page likes which makes me think I should introduce myself! My name is Mieke Sikking. My husband , Peter, and I have 4 kids ages 5, 4, 2 and almost 8 weeks. He was born on Valentine’s Day! I started the love of flowers when I met my husband and he introduced me to the floral industry. Our family’s greenhouse is located on seventh street, not far from our house. Fast forward a few years into our relationship and I decided to take a night course program of f...loral arranging at Niagara College. I finished the program in December 2015. In 2012, we moved into our current home and started selling flowers on a greenhouse cart. After 2 Saturdays of standing there, I decided a honesty system and I have operated like that since. Thanks to my customers for letting me able to do so! 2013, I went to my first ever market at the TORONTO FLOWER MARKET. I have only missed a few dates and I love meeting customers and educating people on how to properly buy and care for flowers. It is an amazing market to go to finding local flowers. Somewhere in between while enjoying a few glasses of local wine and thinking of a business name, I figured using our location would be a perfect name would be In Between the Vines. That being said we are located between Hernder Estate Winery and Henry of Pelham. Both excellent wineries to by local wines from! In 2015, I decided to up my game a bit and do more event flowers while being home with our first born. Now with 4 kids I am not doing currently doing event flowers. I miss creating the pieces for my clients but hopefully in a few years I will be able to do this part of my business again. Throughout the year you can find different items in our shed and I have lots of plans for the future. So keep an eye on this page for what’s to come. Thanks for reading this long post! This year I created almost a 100 more than last year!... Unfortunately I cannot get more greenery so I have to close up shop for Christmas urns. WOW! Thank you all for your support and buying the Christmas urns. It was a crazy few weeks but the kids and I loved making these creations for your home. Over 200 were made surpassing last years. With knots in my stomach I have to share the following news. Last night our greenhouse caught fire. We were on holidays when we heard. We drove home to find our... place engulfed in flames. We are devastated beyond words and we are disbelief. We thank everyone that reached out in anyway and we appreciate it all. We are also saddened to say we had Mexican trailers burn down too. We are so sorry for what they have lost. We will be continuing to keep moving forward and rebuild our business. See more
