India celebrates Republic Day annually on 26 January, and this year the country will celebrate its 72nd Republic Day to mark the day India became a sovereign republic. While India gained independence from the British in 1947, but it wasn't until 26 January 1950 that the Indian Constitution came into effect and India became a sovereign state, declaring it a republic. This day is celebrated with much pomp and fervour all over India, and in India's capital Delhi, parades, tableaus and spectacular displays by the defense forces are showcased at Rajpath. Hello Everyone Hope you all are staying safe and have managed to make a new normal in these times of pandemic. It's the time of the year where we normally are putting countless hours preparing for the festival of lights, Diwali; decorating the house, making delicious food for the loved ones and getting ready to showcase performances at the big stage. This year has been challenging and with the current guidelines there is no way for us to do a Diwali celebration like we have ...in the previous years, however we are planning a virtual celebration combining the three associations from Greater Moncton Area, Fredericton and Saint John. So if any of you are interested in showcasing your performances, through dance, music or any kind of artistic expressions, do reach out to [email protected] with a brief description about your performances and the details of the performers like video, audio, pictures etc. We are also planning additional competitions where everyone can participate virtually, and Goddess Lakshmi might bestow you with a lucky gift this Diwali:Will Choose best three Participants . - Rangoli Competition - Diwali Decorations - Diwali Sweets --------- Email: [email protected] Submission Date is ------21st November Screening date is ------28th November There will be a DIWALI MELA EVENT page on facbook created for showcasing this event.
