To All broomballers across the world, As the end of a most difficult year draws close the IFBA Board extend to you our thoughts and best wishes. The past twelve months that has been 2020 has proved for so many difficult, confusing and in some cases a sad time and we, all of us that are the broomball family from local leagues to national organisations, to the international body are fully supportive of all the effort and time that the many volunteers and organisers freely offe...r to keep the sport active where possible. We are fully aware of the most difficult time that all are currently facing and deferring the IFBA World Broomball Championships was a decision not taken lightly and as it proved was necessary. There will be a time where we can gather as friends and it is to this we focus on. Kingston will see the worlds elite broomballers grace the city and surrounds as soon as we can gather safely. It has been most pleasing to see that the sport is getting back on to the ice in some locations and we urge all to be aware of local requirements and to stay safe when doing so. There will be a time where we can once again gather as friends and it is to this we focus on. The team that is the IFBA Board wishes all across the world a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. IFBA World Broomball Championship - Action a plenty as we headed into the end of the week. Masters, Mixed, Womens and Mens games all exhibited the highest standard of sportsmanship and skill.

Two years ago we were now deep into the round robin games. The standard very high, the skills very evident, the desire to win the ball or game now on show.

As the week progressed two years ago in Minneapolis, teams and players were settling into the routine of games which became more competitive. Even the team of internationals wearing the stripes had team huddles.

This week we were all supposed to be in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. With the world currently shut down that did not happen so to celebrate the sport we will post images from the last IFBA World Broomball Championships in Minneapolis, USA.

World Broomball Championships Update.. This past Sunday the Board held a meeting to make a final decision with regard to the running of the 2020 IFBA World Broomball Championships. With the ongoing concerns around the pandemic that is Covid-19 the Board has in total agreed that the event shall be deferred to a later date and not be run in 2020.... After careful consideration and with regard to the submissions from all member associations where the majority indicated 2021, including the host in Kingston, Ontario, the IFBA Board has accepted that the possibility or opportunity may exist in 2021 to run the event. It must be noted that the Board in general believe a deferral to 2022 may be a better option for the next World Championship allowing all to look at having regional championships in place in 2021 such as European Nationals, Canam and Pacific Rim Tournaments as the Covid-19 situation is different in many countries. The IFBA Board suggest to have a meeting in place in January 2021, with the latest information available with regard to Vaccines, possible second spikes of Covid-19, travel restrictions, etc. shall be better known. Using this updated information will allow us to make a final decision on a 2021 or 2022 World and Regional Championships. The IFBA Board holds the safety and well being of all in the highest regard and shall continue to monitor all developments with regard to the pandemic. 2020 IFBA World Broomball Championships - Update The IFBA Board has held a meeting today where discussion was held with regard to the 2020 IFBA World Broomball Championships that are scheduled to be held in Kingston, Ontario, Canada later in the year. It must be noted that the safety and well-being of all is the paramount focus for the IFBA Board.... With the Covid-19 pandemic far from considered as finished across the world and that the Board is driven by our members we felt it prudent to seek information from all our member associations. To that end the IFBA Board has sent a communication to all IFBA Member Associations. The response from the communication will form the final decision with regard to what action is taken as to when the event is to be run. The decision to defer making a commitment with regard to running the event was not taken lightly but with the situation changing almost daily across the world the IFBA Board believe it prudent to gain as much information as necessary before a final decision. The response from all member associations also allows for possible alternate options when that final decision is made. The IFBA Board has set aside June 21st (Canada time) to again meet and make that final decision. This decision will be communicated within days of that meeting. Covid-19 (English below) La FQBG, en collaboration le comité organisateur du Centre-du-Québec, doit annoncer la cancellation du Championnat provincial Mineur 20...20 de Victoriaville étant donné la situation. L'événement qui se déroulait du 24-26 avril sera normalement reporté au même endroit pour 2021. L'officialisation se fera sous peu. Ceci marque donc la fin prématurée de la saison 2019-2020. Nous vous tenons au courant pour la suite des choses. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// We must announce the cancellation of the 2020 Youth provincials in Victoriaville. The event, that was supposed to be from April 24th to 26th, will be probably postponed next year at the same place. The official announcement will be out soon. This is officializing the premature ending of 2019-2020 season. We will keep you informed about what's next.

Broomball Australia has announced that the 2020 nationals has been cancelled due to advice received outlining all the latest information regarding the Covid 19 virus currently across the globe and in particular latest developments within Australia. The Federal Government has imposed a 14 day quarantine period for all persons entering the country. Australians at home are still free to travel around the country however the risk to all planning to travel to the 2020 Nationals w...as no longer acceptable to the Broomball Australia Board and member associations and the sad decision to cancel was agreed to earlier today (Mar 16th) All Member Associations are in the process of advising the teams and players and a post can be found on the Broomball Australia social media pages as well. Possible alternate dates will be looked at with discussions and any advice released when it becomes available. The IFBA Board are also closely monitoring the situation planning a conference call at the end of the week to discuss the issue in relation to the 2020 World Broomball Championships later in the year. .

UPDATE Hi, We regret to inform you that the 2020 Juvenile "U20" National Broomball Championships scheduled for March 24 -28, 2020 at the Benson Centre in... Cornwall , ON, and the 2020 Senior Mixed, Womens and Men's National Broomball Championships scheduled for April 1 - 4, 2020 at the Merlis Belsher Centre in Saskatoon , SK, have been cancelled. The Host Committees are presently investigating different options for possible future dates for the 2020 Championships. Updates on all of this will be distributed when they become available. Women's Masters Division confirmed.... The IFBA Board are please to advise that for the 2020 IFBA World Broomball Championships we shall be introducing a new division, that of Womens Masters. If you have been to the 2020 host website for the IFBA World Broomball Championships you will have seen a reference to the possibility of introducing the Womens Masters division.... There have been several requests for the introduction of the division in the past few years and in balance after some discussion the IFBA Board see this as a positive move offering the opportunity to expand the event and open it to those athletes keen to be involved at the highest level in our sport. With team registration now available we look forward to seeing all the athletes in Kingston, Ontario in early November.
