1981. Throwback Thursday. Into All The World mission came into being. Part of the founding group is seen below. From Haileybury Baptist Church Rev Paul TImpany and Doreen Rhodes, Barb and Bill Lewis, Esther Harding from Stanley park Baptist in Kitchener and Rev Al Perks from the Baptist church in Woodstock. Not in the photo was Loren Fleming of Highland Baptist, Kitchener. 40 years ago this work began. Over the next number of weeks we will take our Thursdays to explore some of the things that have happened over the past 40 years. We rejoice in God's goodness. Pray for God to open new doors for this 40th year of reaching the unengaged and unreached.
Isolation over. Waiting over. Tim and Samantha Gordon and their two children River and Karina have been ready to go to Thailand since last June. Finally able to fly Dec 23 only to be quarenteened in an expensive hotel in Thailand for 14 days. That's over. Today they flew to their final destination Pheuket where the next stage begins. Language study (visa) , finding and equipping a house and finding a reasonable used vehicle. Pray for God's guidance as they move forward. May they be used for fulfill all of God's purposes for them.
The Tolman family in Mexico for prayer today. Last year there were some health issues - pray for good health and strength as well as wisdom in the work God has called them to do. One of their outreach programs is called "Saved by soccer" - not that soccer saves anyone -but because of soccer they hear of Jesus and they accept Him as their Saviour and enter the narrow door into the Kingdom. Pray for much fruit for their labour in 2021.
Word from Joe Martin yesterday in Cambodia. All the students are back on campus for this semester which ends lat February. Pray for the teachers and students to learn all God has for them. May the Phnom Penh Bible School be used greatly of God to train pastors and evangelists to give God glory. Pray that there will be no more shutdowns due to Covid-19 so the students learning can be uninterupted.
Pray for the Hicks family. They are home from Solomon islands to the U.S.A. as they wit for the birth of their next child. Pray for health, safety and meaningful ministry in the U.S.
Over in Scotland David and Agnes Mitchell and their children are serving God in a small church. Their hearts desire is to see Scotland revived and re-evangelized. Pray for God given wisdom and strategies that will touch the heart of the Scottish people. Pray that Agnes sermon on BBC on new years day in Gaelic will be remembered and turn the hearts of the people to God.
Dreams. May your dreams come from the Lord. God given tasks for you to accomplish in His strength. Down in Dominican Republic and Haiti are two of our workers Julienne and her husband Jelsie. They have dreams. A center for the work of the Lord. Establishing micro enterprise business for the poor. Help for the disabled and orphans. Better gardening where possible. The list goes on. Pray for God to work in and through them to glorify His name and bring His rich blessings to the people to whom they minister.
Unengaged. I am not talking a out single men and women. But these are ethnic groups in the world that have no church no Christian and no one sharing the Gospel in their area in their language. The past 5 years mission organizations and churches have made great strides in going to these groups. Five years ago there were about 1600 such groups. Today it is around 150. I am looking forward to attending (by zoom) the annual meeting of Finishing the Task in February to find out more. Meanwhile let us pray for God to send labourers to these groups. In our February prayer bulletin we are asking prayer for the Baygo people of Sudan. Thank you for praying.
"Whom shall I send and who will go for us" said God to Isaiah Chapter 6 vs 8 ... Ask God to raise up a new army of people who will answer the same as Isaiah did. Here am I Lord - send me. Are you or someone you know one of those who said Here I am Lord, send me. Or do you know someone who answered tat way. Please put them inn contact with us. Let's talk. Such people may serve with Into All The World mission or we may have them partner with one of the several ministr...ies we work with. Together let us share the good news with all nations (ethnic groups) You have my permission to copy this to your page as we pray for God to send labourers.
Uganda has an amazing climate for agriculture - 3 crops a year - good soil (if its cared for) and usually adequate rain (if they don't cut down all their trees) Nick and Cheryl DeKoning have produced and given away millions of trees -fruit, shade, timber, the last number of years. In this pandemic year they have grown acres and acres of beans and given them to widows and orphans. Pray for wisdom for them as they proceed through 2021. Pray for good health, good workers, God given ideas and strategies to bless the nation and the world.
