For anyone that is looking for work as a Traffic Control Person, Hanrahan Safety Consulting has one tentatively on schedule for next Friday, Sept 25 in Charlottetown. Message us if you want his contact info.

If there are people interested in working as traffic controllers (flaggers, signallers) we will provide you with the name and number of the course instructor via PM. There is all kinds of work for people with this training. I know he doesn’t currently have a course time set but if he gets enough people I’m sure he’ll set one up. We will reimburse you for the cost of it when you start work. We had been setting it up ourselves and paying for people to go but less than half the people we have paid for have actually come to work so need to go about this a little differently. Work will run until November, Monday-Friday and some Saturdays starting at 6:30. Days can be 11-12 hrs. Rate of pay is $15/hr, and overtime over 55 hours/week. Only other thing you need is CSA approved work boots.

We're looking for motivated, hard working people to join us for the rest of the season. There is a lot of work left to do. Yes, there are definitely some long hours, but you'll be working with a great bunch of people and we offer competitive wages for the industry. While we are a seasonal business, many of our staff come back year after year. Looking for traffic control personnel (flaggers), traffic control managers, general labourers etc.... Don't forget that the road construction industry offers life long careers as well! We're not only here for the season. We're always on the hunt for someone that is looking for more than a summer job as there are opportunities to move up to running your own crews, or getting into estimating or project management! Send your resume to [email protected]

I am sad that I feel I even need to post this but here are my thoughts for all. Be kind. Everyone on the Island is suffering through the exact same global pandemic. We as a business are doing our best to look out for ourselves, our customers, our staff and their families. We have made many changes to how we are going about our day to day business and have invested in cleaners, disinfectants, masks. anything we can to try and do business in a safe manner. ... We have had a late start to our paving season, which will inevitably lead to delays in getting quotes, and also your work getting done. This is not something that could have been avoided on our part. Please be patient. Please be kind to our office staff that are answering your calls. Please be kind to our estimators when they look at your job. Please be kind to our highway and driveway crews and drivers as they work hard to get the work done. Be kind to each other. Everyone is hurting because of this and we are all doing our best to cope with things as well as we can. Being ignorant and rude to people that are simply trying to do their job is not going to make you feel better in the long run.
