After a nice social media break I am back! I felt pretty tired after 2020 so it was a very therapeutic break! . I am feeling refreshed. . After putting together a clients order at Christmas for a series of black and white prints I was inspired to reinterpret a bunch of my favorite images into black and white.... So over the next few weeks I am going to present some of my favorite works in black and white. I’m not sure how they will be received on Instagram/Facebook but in all honesty, I don’t care. This series is for me, as an artist exploring the realm of monochromatic. The first image is one of my personal favorite grain elevator images in my collection and it’s the one that kicked off my elevator series. It’s called Sentinel on Tracks Seeing the layers of grays and blacks on the clouds and tracks really excited me after I finished this image. How about you? Do you like black and white imagery? Dynjandi (Din-yahn-di) is a series of 7 waterfalls in the remote Westfjords of Iceland. It also by the name of Fjallfoss (Mountain Falls). The name Dynjandi in Icelandic means thunderous. . Thunderous it is indeed! When you ascend to the main trapezoid section at the top all you can hear is the roar of falling water. And the view is outstanding. . My wife and I debate about which waterfall is our favorite in Iceland and this one tops her list. It’s in my top 3 for sure! ... . The waterfall originates from the river Dynjandisa and cascades over basalt boulders all the way down to Arnarfjordur. . The waterfall in the foreground of my image is Gongumannafoss. . Visiting this waterfall and region you can just sense the stories and folklore. My visits will left me intrigued, wanting to know more about the history and stories of Dynjandi. .
