Eccentric circles #gastowngrandprix
@cement_surferlr doing just that.
Squished air providing us with plenty of erratic beauty, from where the plains meet the mountains.
BC’s interior has some seriously wild roads - very few are paved, even less are ride-able and sometimes you’re rolling on what is better described as dust. This one was pretty good though, logging trucks aside. @cement_surferlr
Getting my mid-week bike-pack on with Landyachtz Bikes - more on my IG.
Captioning this was extremely hard when its a visual testament to the blanketing haze produced from the USs apocalyptic fires, viewed through a device that is leading society to the brink of digitization, both of which are contributing to climates move towards a second Eocene and were just out here having a picnic and thoroughly enjoying ourselves thanks to fossil fuels in a place called Hope. Humans are wild and most likely deserve all the chaos we bring down on this planet. What is real...? Mumma Nature, the one that will outlast us all, regardless of how poorly we treat her.
Big shoutout to Dane Hanna and his recently-released pro model race board. It's a shame there's no World Cup race season this year as my most certainly biased self is sure that it would've been a Landyachtz clean sweep.
Now that commercially available cameras can see in the dark it's once again becoming one of my favourite times to shoot. I got into taking photos cuz of the night but back then it was full-time tripod, or some rest-able object, and it was a slow process but one that I had all the time in the world for - happily shooting till 3am cuz I wanted the moon to go there. Nowadays I find myself in the 1000+ photos a night era, which is less nice, but certainly more efficient & defi...nitely fun. Shooting action under street-light was always a dream for me, and was what motivated me on a series of night shots back in 2012 - when I first gained access to crazy fast primes & full-frame slrs, thanks to Susan and her Brisbane Camera Hire business. That series proved to be one of my more cherished photographic endeavours, one that is now highly achievable and equally fun, but at the time (8yrs ago now!) was a beloved moment of skill over tech, in a time when digital cameras were more cameras than they were computers. Dillon Stephens & Steven Vera - for Landyachtz
I tried to identify these mountains on gmaps just now and even knowing where I was standing didn't help - the sheer volume of peaks in the Rockies is only part of it's draw.
turquoise crepuscular rays - never seem like this since, colour or angle.
Stoked on this dude, great skater, great to work with and has nailed the fine art of existing on the edge of self preservation & destruction Dexter Manning
Sumbawa base camp.
This one is hard to caption without using descriptors such as best ever, favourite of all time etc etc - but they're fitting as I'll never get enough of his style.
Might moss mound of Camosun Bog, saved from urbanisation. Phew.
Shooting these two maniacs on the verge of dark was a challenge I barely had the attention span for as I was too busy coming to terms with how good the racers of today actually are. Dexter Manning & Dane Hanna
This lump is arguably my most seen yet least photographed landmark ever - I can finally check this one off of the non-existant list of things i'd like to photograph.

lil rain clouds, mid-right background, are my favourite

Stephen Vaughn making a sacrifice to the gods of skate travel party. Landyachtz
Dexter Manning grew up so fast since I first wowed at him during Whistler 2014. Stoked to see him ripping on what I used to think was an unattainable level.
life at the end of the roll
Vancouver Island Vulture
I wonder if it's nickname, the Hammer, came before or after it's donning as the Hate Capital of Canada.
The last thing I heard, before the waterfall noise consumed all else, was to be careful because the rocks were covered in ice; 30 seconds later I see this. It was Mary's birthday though, so obviously nothing was going to go wrong... I'm a lucky lamb and not because we didn't have to swim that day, but because I am now experiencing the north with the thing I used to miss the most while I was up here
Watching dead salmon float by certainly added to the eeriness.
It's been a while since I put myself behind the wheel for this particular breed of insanity and there is a part of me which is stoked that I won't be bump drafting my homies with a car any time soon... Another part of me is stoked that I finally got to spectate it - from both passenger seat and footpath. Another part of me is not stoked, the bit that is addicted to unbridled adrenaline. Also, I'd like to take a moment to bury Dexter Manning in froth - his downhill style and approach have had me excited since I realised he was world-beating on $40 trucks back at Whistler in 2013 - the style, even back then!!!!! Endless props more more mooooreee!!!!
BOARRRDD MEEETTTINNNNGG etc - I did a bloggo https://landyachtz.com//03/toronto-skateboard-meeting-2019/

Hey all you maniacs that skated Tame The Taipan: I've decided that I'm going to deliver every photo I took on the day in the form of a 4K time-lapse video from which you can grab hi-res screenshots for your social desires (there will be no commercial licensing, please contact me asap if you need rights) I'll post the video link once it's live - probably youtube.
