I like older people because they give you the benefit of their life’s knowledgeno charge! Today, just about everyone on this new Team Canada is working hard in looking out for each other. Or, as they say in Newfoundland, I’m just going over to check on buddy next door.

If there’s a silver lining in all that we’re going throughit’s having time to reassess just who we are and what we are here to do. We are not our houses. We are not our cars and we are not our stuff. We’re finding out who we really are and the real joy in helping others.

It’s funny how sometimes we think we have to go halfway around the world to find somewhere beautiful and peaceful. Maybe we’ve been missing the message that the best things in life are freeand they’ve been there all along.

As all of us on Team Canada make our way through isolation, this may be a new dawn for our computers. Maybe it will finally be the end of seeing another cat playing the piano on Facebookas we harness ways to reach out to those who really matter.

I remember once seeing a small army of little kids in Hamilton making ginger-bread houses as part of a fundraiser. The kids looked like ghostscovered in icing sugar. The kids were laughing and the they were smiling. Maybe we can all learn from that story.
