So I wanted to give my opinion on the plasters I use, I have been getting alot of messages asking so here they are. . . My favorite restoration plaster is @masterofplasterusa #mopplasters are the best lime plasters i have ever used and I cant recommend them highly enough. Not only is there product fantastic, the company is family run and the customer service is second to none.... The photos in this post are all @masterofplasterusa . . If im doing historic plasters I like to mix my own, sand lime mixes. . . . . . Real Plaster. . . Not drywall mud or modified acrylics. .... . When I say plaster, I mean plaster. Lime, casting plaster sand. All the Ingredients that make real solid breathable plaster that wil last hundreds and hundreds of years. . . . One of my favorite projects in the past few years. Dressed stone on the outside, breeze blocks with lime mortar. Three coats of lime plaster onto the blocks. No fancy insulation or drywall and drywall mud. This is solid real plaster and its beautiful. . . Slate roof with copper flashing, solid wood construction with real plaster. All materials were thought about on this project, from the clay brick herringbone floor pointed with lkme mortar to the 6ft fireplace. Straightening the lime render then floating up. . Straightening the walls keeps everything plumb, and makes sure there's no shadows on the wall when the sun catches it. . .... You float up the walls with a wooden or urethane float. This compresses the sand and lime in the mix making the wall stronger and less prone to cracking. How its made. The sample was accepted so making the lengths of crown to be installed. . . .... . The burlap is bedded into the plaster, all one mix for reinforcement.
