It warms my heart to read of this miracle . It makes me literally nauseous with heartache imagining if it were Quincy. So happy for the outcome. https://www.surreynowleader.com//senior-dog-rescued-after/

Are you getting a puppy? Do you have a puppy? Those puppy teeth certainly are sharp aren’t they? I really like how dealing with puppy biting is explained in this video. https://youtu.be/068K5Zlph9U

DohG was so scared to get in the truck when I first took her home. Extreme lengths of time with her leash attached to a handle on one side while I fed her high value treats from the other. A ramp was used for a while, A crate in the back of the truck for a couple of drives (but the crate was too noisy I think) before she refused this option. Back to the rear seat and a seat belt. After around 3 months she jumps right on in, no drool . Having patience and allowing her to make the choice when, has solidified her willingness to go for a ride. So worth it. Note: there was training steps with the ramp and crate before even bringing them close to the truck. Very important steps. https://youtu.be/XXkPmR5am5U

This poor boy was lost in Vermont. Please let it be a warning of how waters can be deceiving, our Spring melts will be starting soon and waters will rise. Often looking calm but extremely treacherous.

DohG and I have been visiting our DOGSAFE friend Gail COVID style this week. Living in my little trailer in her driveway. DohG’s first time camping and she’s made me proud. I sooo lucked out with her . Now if only she would recognize that there are the occasional times when going against the training is acceptable. Like when the propane runs out, it’s 4 degrees Celsius, and I’m to stubborn to get dressed and switch tanks in the dark. Please come snuggle

Dogs and mirrors. I know DoG reacts to her reflection in windows but when I wave back at her she goes all silly as if she’s clueing in. This evening, to my surprise, was her introduction to a mirror. Seemingly for the first time. She was growling and deep barking at my reflection in the mirror in the spare room. So I took a mirror to her level.

So happy things worked out for everyone involved, the situation certainly had high potential for otherwise. Learning from the experience of others is all we need to do, no blame, no criticism and no finger pointing. Just hopefully learn to be our best should we ever find ourselves in a pickle. Dogsafe 101 is designed to help you be prepared in emergencies. A new class date will soon be announced for K9ABCs, stay tuned. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/drowning-dog-cpr-english-bay
