Assalamu Alaikum Dear Brothers & Sisters, As you're likely aware, the public health situation in Ottawa and Ontario is rapidly deteriorating. New restrictions on places of worship (such as ours) announced by the Ontario Government will be coming into effect soon. In accordance with these new guidelines and out of concern for the health and safety of our community, staff and volunteers, it is with great sadness that we inform you of the following changes to KMA prayer services... *effective Monday, April 19*: *Daily prayers* - 1 jamat for each of the 5 daily prayers - Maximum of 9 people each (plus imam) - In order to give others a chance, it is recommended that one person comes to pray once a day - Age 13+ only - Register on KMA Mossalla WhatsApp group by posting your name 30 minutes before the jamat time (to join the group, email your name and mobile number to [email protected]) - If you are among the 9 first people to write your name within 30 minutes of jamat time and you are not required to self-isolate, you can attend - If 9 people have already written their names, please do not attend that prayer - *If you do not feel well in any way, kindly DO NOT attend* - Please be generous in giving others a spot *Taraweeh Prayer* - Suspended - Please offer at home *Friday Prayers* - 1 jamat - Maximum of 10 people - Apart from Imam and management, available spots will be offered to past Friday attendees (from last 4 Fridays) by random selection - Those whose names are drawn will be contacted privately - Kindly do not contact us to request a spot Our goal is to fulfill the basic rights of the masjid while allowing public access in a manner that is legal and safe. We know this will be difficult for our community, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan, but we pray that Allah Almighty rewards us all according to our good intentions. May He reward you greatly for your patience, cooperation and sacrifice in this month. May Allah bless you all and keep you safe. Jazakum Allah kheir.
