Today’s storm has passed and winds are veering to northwest quickly.

Even a storm day is a good day on Mitlenatch Island.

Tidal exploration is one of our favourite activities. It can be done while on a beach or while in a kayak. This was Northwest Beach and the Mossy Chiton was a big bonus, it was a Good Friday.

We did a last minute Hulks Tour today - There are so many California Sea Lions in that area at the moment.

Thank you Peter, for this fantastic TripAdvisor Review! 'Exceeded My Expectations' I did a 4 day kayak trip of Desolation Sound with a small group. Everything was so well planned out. I was very impressed by John's (tour guide) knowledge of the area's biodiversity as well local Indigenous nations and culture. The trip was a perfect blend of adventure, beautiful scenery, good company, lots of laugh and moments for quiet contemplation. One of my favourite memories is that at du...sk a couple of nights, a humpback whale would pass through the area. While we could not see him/her, we could hear the blow hole in the dark every few minutes. It was a lovely and magical sound to go to sleep to. Date of experience: September 2020

The sky has no limits, it’s a privilege to live on the coast.

Texada Island’s industrial past in combination with the fog and US wildfire smoke may paint some ‘eerie’ pictures, or this could possibly be a fantastic film location.

One more, because it was so serene.

A lovely day on the water. Lot’s to see and explore after the sun ‘beats’ the fog early in the morning.

Day 5/6. Teakerne Arm to the Martin Islands, more Humpback Whales and Sea Lions in Lewis Channel. Finished the day of with a Dutch ‘stamppot’ and a campfire.

Day 4/6. More Humpback Whales in Waddington Channel today, including a Sea Lion eating a Salmon. The reward of the day was a swimm in Cassel Lake, refreshing!

Day 3/6. We saw so many Humpback Whales today. In Sutil Channel and around the Penn Íslands. They were even breaching during the night, so cool!

Day 2/6, a smoke filled day on our way to Marina Island / Shark Spit. There were so many Common- and Pacific Loons in the shallow areas.

Day 1 of a 6-day kayak tour. Smokey skies, but a lovely paddle day. We even had to use our compass during a longer crossing. Hopefully, the skies will clear soon.
