The Government of Canada protects the rights of foreign workers in Canada. If you are a foreign worker in Canada and are being abused or are at risk of being abused by your employer in relation to your job in Canada, you may be eligible for an open work permit for vulnerable workers. This type of work permit helps protect your rights as a worker in Canada by helping you leave an abusive situation to find a new job. However, it’s a temporary solution that has an expiry date, a...nd can’t be renewed. You can apply for this type of work permit if you are inside Canada, have a valid employer-specific work permit, and are being abused or at risk of being abused in relation to your job in Canada. If you’re approved for this work permit, it should give you enough time to find a new employer and apply for a new work permit. You must apply for another work permit before your open work permit for vulnerable workers expires if you want to stay and work in Canada. More information regarding the program could be obtained by visiting the official link below: https://www.canada.ca///temporary/vulnerable-workers.html

As of 14 February 2019 the department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada grants 180 days to International students in Canada who want to apply to obtain a Post-Graduate Work Permit in order to work in Canada after graduating from their studies at an eligible Canadian academic institution. The 180 day period begins when students receive a formal written notification regarding the completion of their academic program or when the final marks have been issued. In add...ition, international students are allowed to apply for a Post-Graduate Work Permit from outside Canada and this recently introduced change makes it easier for international students to return to their home country for up to six months after finishing their academic studies in Canada without jeopardizing their chances of obtaining a work permit for employment in Canada. The Post-Graduate Work Permit allows international students who have completed an eligible academic program to work in Canada for up to three years and the obtained Canadian work experience may count towards a future application for permanent residence in Canada through the category of Canadian Experience class. If you would like to have some assistance regarding your application for a Post-Graduate Work Permit e-mail us your interest and a copy of your CV or resume in English as a PDF file at: [email protected] for an initial assessment.
