I can't believe all of Sarafina's puppies will be gone shortly. Little Iroh is the last to leave today and we are getting our snuggles in This litter has been amazing to crate train and are so snuggly. Can't wait to watch them grow through all their new families pictures! If you don't know already we have a group on facebook for families to share pictures on. If you have one of our puppies or are on our list or thinking about joining our list, you might love this group. www.facebook.com/groups/711461815543879

Well, it is that time again. All Sarafina's puppies are leaving today and tomorrow. We are going through our morning routine of bath, blow dry, sanitary trim as needed, nail trims and lots of snuggles and goodbyes before their new families get here.

Did you know there is this really special and important part of our bathing routine around here that we wanted to share with you all. We have talked about lots of other techniques, but this one is truly unique. Galia, one of our resident socializers, has implemented this one and well we love it! It is called 'Intro to Princess Castles'. The puppies love this part of bathtime, between learning all about princes and princesses and getting some Galia kisses inbetween getting towel dried (although we do get the odd yawn from some of the puppies on occasion. ;) ) Some pictures of this technique for all to enjoy :)

I stepped away from the stove and over Pepper to get them all in this picture, but yes, this is typical of my kitchen when cooking supper ;p River and Zuri are at the stage now where they are enjoying family time with us and just leave to check on their puppies and feed them, cuddle them, etc. Zuri definitely still with her puppies more than River, but River's puppies are in the livingroom now, which is right beside our kitchen/diningroom, so she can always have her eye on t...hem. Zuri's puppies are moved from our bedroom to the office/nursery now, until they are ready for the livingroom too. I must say the five of them together make a pretty cute pack :) Fun to see the different sizes too. To give some perspective Zuri is 70lbs, River is 60lbs, Astro is 33lbs, Pepper is 21lb and Remy is 15lbs (Remy snuck partially out of the picture at the last minute). All the perfect size

Well it is bath day for the adult dogs today. The mud outside is wild this time of year, so baths happen more often lately. I can't say they are all impressed with the extra bath time, but it is pretty cute how much Astro is sweet with Galia even though bath time is not his favourite way to spend time with her. The look on his face is definitely a 'I like you kid, but can't we cuddle instead of you giving me a bath?'

I feel like we should implement a weekly update here to give a glimpse into the chaos that is the Kent Family Farms household So, first of all, Sarafina's puppies are doing amazing at crate and litter training. They slept 10:30PM last night until 8:10AM, with no crying after about 30 seconds in their crates. Only made any peep with excitement when they saw me coming to open their crates. I was very grateful for the extra sleep this morning, as we all slept in after a long n...ight with a teething, fussy Sapphira River's puppies are enjoying their new play area and have been exploring, playing with new toys and learning to use their litter box, which is still hit and miss at this point, but they are getting there. They love their crates and nap in them a lot now too They are so much fun to watch playing at this stage! Hopefully will get a better video of them soon. Zuri's puppies are growing fast and with their eyes open are starting to interact more with each other and exploring their whelping box and toys, etc. at this stage. We had a busy week this week with one of our boys needing oral surgery (he is doing great, but obviously our focus was on him for a couple days), Sarafina's puppies are in full fledge training mode and are doing great and also I mean lets be honest, there is a lot of cleaning going on with this many puppies, who poop... a lot We also are getting dozens of emails everyday, so we have gotten a little behind with emails again and probably will more this weekend, but should be caught up again early this coming week. We have such a busy schedule right now, we will be taking some time for family time this weekend as well as focusing on Sarafina's puppy training. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Sometimes I just have to laugh at the amount of time the puppies use their mom's as a jungle gym. Then I remember my kids do this too I just don't have 10 at once, haha. Zuri takes it all in stride though for sure! She is rocking this first time momma thing!

Vash just wanted to let everyone know that we won't be doing pictures until probably tomorrow this week because only about half of us have our eyes fully open, so we wanted to wait an extra day to show off our beautiful eyes Enjoying our evening snuggles though :)

Some cute leash exercises ;) The trainer doesn't have the longest attention span but she loves to cuddle the puppies and Sunnie loves her and follows her everywhere and is so very patient with her :)

It is going home day for a bunch of the puppies. Everyone gets a bath, nail trim and blow dry before they go. Zeke is here pre bath, post bath (pre blow dry) and post blow dry. Galia insists of snuggling them up lots when they are wet from their baths, which is so sweet. Zeke is a dream to blow dry, he actually acts like it is a massage and relaxes and settles right in for his blow dry. The look I get when he is wet though... haha

We also have some really cute group pictures coming with the weekly pictures this week. I will post the good ones with the weekly album, but thought I would post this blooper picture. Breeders often post their best pictures of course, but taking pictures of puppies and children for that matter takes a lot of time and patience. This picture is in the middle of the chaos, before getting everyone in place. We often take many pictures for every one picture that we will post. You ...will see the pictures of the puppy sitting perfectly, but not the ten pictures of the puppy trying to lick the camera or play with the props, etc. Then you add kids and getting them all to smile at the same time, while puppies sit patiently is something that takes time. We use this as a training experience with the puppies though and they learn sit and stay through the process of their weekly pictures. That is the only way that we can realistically get any of the pictures that we do. Plus picture day typically includes a bath and blow dry, nail trimming and getting used to getting brushed. Bath and blow drying alone can take a few hours, then pictures and trimming 10 puppies nails, etc. turns into an all day event. This is why we don't do individual pictures more than 1 day a week, as we also at this stage are spending a lot more time on training and socializing to new things. Hope you enjoy this fun blooper showing a little bit of the chaos in the midst of the calm ;) See more

Happy Thanksgiving to our Kent Family Farms Doodle Family! Wishing you all a healthy and wonderful Thanksgiving! I know this Thanksgiving is not probably going to be a normal one compared to what we are all used to, with no gathering of family and friends for big meals, but we all still have so much to be grateful for! I know I am so very grateful for all the beautiful human and furr children in this video. They bring joy and laughter to our home everyday :) Give your KFF Doodles a snuggle from us this Thanksgiving!

Kent Family Farms 01.10.2020

This video some were done playing and ready for a nap again, haha. Life of a puppy, play hard, sleep hard and repeat :)

Kent Family Farms 23.09.2020

A couple quick videos we took tonight as well. This one they just woke up from a long nap, so full of energy ;)

Some puppy play time before bed :)

Kent Family Farms 18.09.2020

Sitting patiently waiting for attention :) This litter is already doing so amazing training wise. They are understanding they need to sit and wait if they are going to get attention. Jumping up has been getting better as a result too. They definitely have their teeth in now though and are teething lots and we will continue to work on redirecting, but so far they are picking that up well too. They really are just an amazing snuggly bunch this group! Perfect litter to have while 8 months pregnant... minus the fact that they are big and require a lot of poop clean up, haha, but litter box training is going extremely well too, for their age and will only get better this week as we start overnights, so there isn't accidents at night while we are sleeping ;)

I have had a few families reach out lately with people in their life that give them a hard time for not getting a purebred and thought that it might be a good time to post this article I wrote a few years ago again. I come from the purebred world and understand where these opinions come from, but also acknowledge the lack of facts that these opinions are based on. Remember that health testing, temperament, structure, genetically diverse pedigree, socializing, in home raising..., training and support for puppy families (among many other things) will always be more important when deciding on a breeder. All of these things are what makes a great breeder and whether you get a purebred or a crossbreed, I hope that everyone considers these things and chooses the breed that makes the most sense for your family based on the traits that that breed has. Not every breed will be the right fit for every family. Just like the breed that you breed does not make you a good or bad breeder, how you breed them however does. https://kentfamilyfarms.wordpress.com//crossbreeding-why-/ See more

Doesn't get much cuter than these evening snuggle/play sessions before bed :)

Kent Family Farms 05.08.2020

They have access to 8 crates, but are still almost all trying to pile into one... still used to all snuggling together ;) They will spread out more over the coming weeks.
