Tasty deep-fried onion. We're coming for you Outback Steakhouse! Blooming Onion 1 Large Sweet Onion 1 Cups Milk... 2 Eggs 1 Cups Flour 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder 1 Tbsp Paprika Salt & Pepper to taste Vegetable Oil Slice the top from an onion and flip over. Use a sharp knife to make cuts all the way around the onion, flip the onion over and separate the ‘petals’. Combine eggs and milk in a bowl, and flour, garlic powder, paprika and salt and pepper in another. Coat the onion in egg wash, before dipping it in the dry ingredients, coating evenly. Repeat. Freeze onion for about ten minutes and heat oil to 375 degrees. Add the onion to oil for about 2 minutes or until browned. Remove from oil, drain on a paper towel and serve with dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Hi everyone, please join us as we celebrate a very special 96 Anniversary Service of VOWR (Wesley United Church) live sream tonight Sunday, July 26th at 7:pm. I am honored to be invited to be a part of this very special event. www.vowr.org ... VOWR - CELEBRATING 96 YEARS On July 24, 1924, VOWR (originally 8WMC) went on the air for the first time. Founded by Rev. Dr. Joseph G. Joyce as an outreach ministry of Wesley United Church, then known as Wesley Methodist Church, VOWR continues Reverend Joyce's original mission with a wide array of Christian programming. But, over the years, the station's role has expanded by offering a great mix of music that's highlighted by easy listening, pop, country, classical as well as Celtic and folk; with the rich talent of Newfoundland and Labrador performers being widely heard on our station. On this, the 96th anniversary of it's first broadcast, the volunteers at VOWR promise to not only steadfastly uphold Reverend Joyce's original mission, but to continue to shape VOWR as a true contributor to the cultural fabric of our community. HAPPY 96TH ANNIVERSARY July 24th marks the 96th anniversary of the first church service broadcast on VOWR and we are marking that anniversary with a special service on Sunday July 26th at 7:00 pm from Wesley United Church in St. John's. While the church is still not open to the general public, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the audio of the service will be broadcast live on VOWR (800 AM; vowr.org, digital channels 756 Bell Aliant and 945 Rogers) and the video of the service will be shown on the Wesley United Church YouTube channel and FaceBook page. Kevin Collins, long time friend and supporter of VOWR will share his ministry of music for the service.
