Thinking about buying KickingHorse F130 Home Gasless Welding Inverter? Read the top review in Amazon Canada! CSA listed, safety first By Amazon Customer on June 3, 2021... After reading reviews on all the 110 volt flux core welders, I decided to go with the Kicking Horse F130. The deciding factor for me was that this machine is CSA listed. I simply wouldn't trust those other unrated welders to keep me safe from shock or fire. Briefly, a CSA listing is similar to a UL listing. It means the product has been tested and certified to meet safety requirements set out by the standards association. I uploaded a photo showing the CSA sticker on the bottom of the welder which you will note has a little "C" and "US" below the CSA. Certified for Canada and USA. I'm a dedicated amateur. Been using the F130 for a week making a steel base for a coffee table. This little inverter is doing a nice job welding 1/8 inch and 3/16 steel using Lincoln .035 flux core wire. I'm welding outside using a 50 foot 12 gauge extension cord plugged into a 15 amp breaker. Haven't tripped the breaker running up to 80% power. Pros: light weight and portable, infinite wire speed and heat settings, electrical safety rated, runs straight out of the box without a fuss. Cons: drive mechanism is mostly plastic and will likely be the weak link in terms of longevity. Perspective: This machine is half the price of a Lincoln. Use it within its intended limits and it is a fine little welder. It's not industrial strength equipment so don't expect it to survive abuse. It's basically a circuit board and some plastic drive components screw mounted into a sheet metal lunch box. Check out the kicking horse website for a lot more info and videos. #KickingHorseWelders

Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2021 by Chris: Bought the 220 stick. Great little machine.... Fired it up with some frozen 7018 that was never kept in a heater. Laid a bead down on some rusty scrap metal laying around the yard, and it ran like a top. I really wanted to simulate some real-life conditions, so I didn't grind my base material, and welded right through the rust. I included a picture, and a video, of the very first bead I laid down with it. It is impressively small. Like, smaller than a shoe box. Would be a great unit for a small generator, considering that's it's claim to fame as an inverter welder. Especially if you have something like a trail rig SUV or Jeep, where you have a backseat instead of a truck bed. This thing just screams "field repairs." Or, if you have limited shop space, like a shed. Don't underestimate it because of it's size. The leads it came with are kind of cheap, and I plan on replacing the ground lead. The stinger is meh. But for the price, you can't beat it. Just be mindful that you need a 2-pole 50amp breaker and a circuit ran with at least #6 AWG copper. The plug is a NEMA 6-50. Basically the same as the oven in your kitchen. I plan on chopping the NEMA 6-50 off and replacing it with a twist-lock (after the warranty is up, of course). Thoroughly impressed. Have to admit I was very skeptical using the big expensive 220 volt welders for years. Really wanted something super portable that I could run off my 3000 watt generator if I really wanted to. Did tons of research and this one seemed to fit the bill as it’s really the size of a shoe box, and not that much more weight too for that matter. This little guy could blow holes right through this 3mm thick square tubing if turned all the way up. Tested it out by building a little heat exchanger for off grid heat in our toy hauler. If just doing little stuff this is going to be my new go to. I do hope it’s stands the test of time where the wire feed mechanism is all plastic.

Thinking about buying KickingHorse A100 home ARC welding inverter? Read our latest review of the product from Amazon Canada by Michael Ireland: IT'S REMARKABLY SMALL, WELL MADE, AND PACKS A PUNCH! So first off, this thing is small and light. I realize the description and photographs already give you that impression, but once you have it in your hands, you can't help but marvel at it. And despite its small size, it really works exceptionally well. Now, as others have mentione...d, this bad boy will pop your 15A circuit breakers with ease. Here is my advice: First, be sure nothing else is using power on that circuit; next, avoid extension cords if possible; if you DO need an extension cord, go with a 12 gauge cable and as SHORT as reasonably practicable. With all that, you still won't be able to push it to the max unless you have a 20A circuit to use it on. The thing is, in Canada, the vast majority of consumer electronics will only draw 12A under normal operation. Not so with this little beast, this thing will take everything you can feed it. The other thing I want to reiterate is that it's remarkably well built. It's not one of those crappy pieces equipment with badly translated instructions. It's a legitimate, high quality piece of kit designed for a bit more than just a hobbiest. HIGHLY recommended.
