Kodiak Members, We are please to announce our victors for the 2021 eTournament Nationals. The three days of filming around class times until 11pm those three evenings payed off! Congratulations to Kodiak's 3 ladies who competed in the 2021 eTournament Nationals for patterns and prearranged sparring. Like many across Canada, preparing for these events took a lot of endurance, focus, and pushed our ladies to the point of exhaustion. They wouldn't give up until it was perfect to... seal the deal. Congratulations to Ms.Hoveland with placing bronze with Senior 2nd Dan patterns. Congratulations to Ms.H.McMorran placing gold medal with Jr. 2nd Dan Patterns. Congratulations to K.McMorran placing Gold for Jr. 1st Dan patterns. This makes Kaitlin a 3Xgold medal undefeated ITF National Jr Patterns Champion in this division. Congratulations to the McMorran's with placing gold with prearranged sparring. Amazing performance! A special thank you to the C.T.F.I, umpires, organizers, and coaches across Canada to inspire and keep moving forward in these times. https://youtu.be/SPTWUqTo-5E

Dr Shawna Pandya talking about how TaeKwon-Do has positively effected her life: "Tell us a bit about your love for martial arts. Martial arts has been a part of my life for over two decades now. I am a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo and have competed at the national and international levels, and also trained and competed in Muay Thai as well. Martial arts is more than physical activity, it is a philosophy and a lifestyle. When you find the right Dojang, you find your family. The tenets that I have learned through Taekwondo courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit have been philosophies that have been incredibly powerful in shaping the person I am today."
11.04.1955 11.04.2021 = TKD for all Dear Members! When General Choi Hong-Hi presented his Taekwon-Do to the public on 11.04.1955, he himself had not expected ...that it would spread so rapidly across the entire globe. Today 66 years later it is fair to say that it is one of the most popular martial arts in the world. Members in over 120 member countries on every continent bear witness to this. Starting with military training and publicising through TKD demonstration teams to the civilian population, Taekwon-Do today is not just competition for a few, but appeals to all social groups. This is proven by the number of members in all age groups. The attractiveness of the martial art, due to its versatility, is reflected especially in the youngest members (approx. 57% children), but also in the older generation (50 years plus). According to a recent survey, the proportion of women has meanwhile grown to 21% and even people with health deficits already make up 5%. General Choi’s Taekwon-Do has changed because it has also adapted to the changed social conditions and has thus become even more attractive without having lost its identity. We should continue on this path even in these difficult times in order to honour the legacy of the founder. Greetings to all with respect. GM Paul Weiler ITF President

Thank you for the seminar Sir!
Even though Alberta Martial Art clubs are closed do to a selective lock down from our government, we manage to find ways to train in the pandemic. It was great to train with Master Hutton from Scotland via Zoom today. This was an instructors mini seminar. We loved his energy and commitment to the art. Thank you Sir! Kodiak will be running virtual classes for members in leu of the next two weeks of physical training. Looking forward to seeing membership there for our classes! We will be back in the gym before we know it.
