KPAC presents: Rose Prairie Romance "Rose Prairie Romance is a rock band based in Northern British Columbia. Formed as a trio in the summer of 2015 with Ryan Sebastiano on vocals and guitars, Conor Okrainec on bass and Mark Bodner on drums, the band expanded its sound in 2016 with the addition of Ben Norris on lead/rhythm guitars and Dana Pederson on keys. In 2020, with Ben moving from the North Peace area, Daniel Smart (former bassist for CBC searchlight Top 10 finalists Sca...rlet Sway) has been added to the lineup on guitar. The band released their debut self-recorded album "Renovations" in the summer of 2020, releasing four singles in advance: Closer, Take Me Away, Stay and Holding Strong. The album was recorded over a year and a half period in Fort St. John, BC for what started out as a "let's record these songs before we forget them" project which eventually found its way to a CD, Vinyl and Digital release. Citing a wide range of influences from Houndmouth and Shakey Graves to Banner Pilot and Tom Petty, the band has a sound that mixes rock, groove and feel into their own distinct musical vibe. They are well known in their local music scene as a band that delivers a consistently entertaining and diverse live set, whether playing fully plugged in or dialing back the volume for an intimate acoustic performance. Over the years the band has performed at several local festivals including Canola Fest, Northern Groove Fest (2 times, but who's counting), Dawson Creek's Big Chill, and the North Vale Music Festival. ATTENTION ALL KPAC DANCE & KARATE STUDENTS: As per new Provincial Health Orders regarding in-person group lessons. Our dance and karate classes will be suspended until Monday November 30th. Starting that day we will resume all regularly scheduled classes at the scheduled times via online. Invitations will be sent to parents for scheduled classes from November 30th to December 7th. We are closely following all provincial health guidelines and will keep everyone posted as the information becomes available. These guidelines do not effect our in person music lessons; however we do ask our students to wear a mask for their lessons.
