The KWS is celebrating National Volunteer Week by highlighting some of the many volunteers that give their time and talent to the KWS each year. Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers! In 2009, I had the opportunity to participate in the mass choir for the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony's performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony. It was such a powerful experience! In the days after the closing concert I emailed Edwin Outwater, the KWS Music Director at the time, asking: "How can I get involved? Is there some way for a full-time student with no disposable income, some musical training, and a lot of passion to contribute in the music community?" Joan Ang, KWS Volunteer Committee Member since 2009

Our over 120 volunteers work hard to make this organization what it is and we appreciate every little bit they do for us. This week we'll be highlighting some of our volunteers and sharing stories about how they came to volunteer with the KWS and what it's meant to them.

We've missed bringing music to some of the youngest members in our audience, so please enjoy this FREE Kinderconcert The Emperor’s New Crown, featuring Rebecca Morton and Jung Tsai, narrated by Nathaniel Voll. The Emperor’s New Crown features the story of a selfish emperor who cares more about fancy crowns than anything else in the whole world. When a trickster crafts a beautiful crown that only smart people can see, the emperor must have it for himself. The question is: can he see the crown, if it even exists?
