To All Our Amazing Patients and Friends November 9, 2020 Update: On Saturday November 7, 2020, Dr. Bonnie Henry released important updates: Provincial Health Officer order on limiting social interactions -... "By order of the PHO, all individuals, places of work and businesses within the Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions must significantly reduce social interactions and travel. The order is in effect from November 7, 2020 at 10:00 pm to November 23, 2020 at 12:00 pm." Ladner Massage Therapy is and will continue to make certain that all safety measures recommended by WorkSafe BC, the BCCDC and the BC Provincial Health Officer have been, and will be followed under a thorough and comprehensive protocol. All of our RMTs, staff and patients must wear Surgical Masks while in the clinic (Level 1). Please remember to wear a clean mask to the clinic on entry, sanitize your hands and switch to the surgical mask that has been laid out for you by your RMT. Please read over our protocols before coming in for your appointment. Hello everyone. We have had a few patients concerned that we are not allowing appointments based on travel outside of BC unless they have been back for 14 days. Our regulations are in place to support this. We are also screening for hotspot areas of possible exposure. We want you safe and we want ourselves safe. It is impossible for us to social distance while giving a treatment, that is why we wear PPE, masks, and change between treatments as well as require masks in the clinic throughout treatment. Our precautions and cleaning protocol are for the benefit of each and every person, including the families we go home to at night and the entire community. To All Our Amazing Patients and Friends May 25, 2020 Update: We hope that you and your families are safe and in very good health. Our communities (near and far) have been through a lot over the last few months and all of us are looking forward to resuming a new normal routine. That many say, includes seeing their Massage Therapist. Our commitment to your well-being and safety hasn’t changed; it is stepped up to make sure that we have and are doing everything we can do to... prevent the spread of Covid-19 in our clinical setting. Our return to work plan has been developed according to the recommended health and safety measures provided by our regulatory board the College of Massage Therapists, BC’s Provincial Health Officer, WorkSafe BC and the RMTBC. Our goal as RMTs, with implementation of this plan, is to help reduce the risk of exposure to the virus that causes Covid-19, for both patients and practitioners, their families and ultimately the community as a whole. We want to offer safe treatment in a carefully controlled environment that promotes health in every way. So, with all this in mind we will not be re-opening to full capacity for some time. Our hours of operation are shorter and our RMTs will return gradually to their new schedules and days. We have new procedures that both the patient and the practitioner must follow and commit to: RMT’s will be wearing PPE as per recommended guidelines to minimize exposure. RMT’s will be self-assessing daily. Increased cleaning and sanitizing between appointments and staggered appointment times to maintain social distancing. Patients will also be required to go through strict screening protocols. Patients will be required to keep social distancing and adhere to all protocols that are implemented for health and safety. Please reschedule your appointment if you are feeling unwell; we will not charge fees for sickness cancellations. Please read over our new protocols before coming in for your appointment. In the next few days we will post them on our website, on our booking program Jane, Facebook, Instagram and email as we go along. May 31, 2020 is our first day back in the clinic to see patients. We are not quite ready to open however are working on ways we can make our clinic treatment ready with all safety measures in place. Our College has recommended air filtration (Hepa Filtration) as an extra means to create a healthier environment especially in a closed air system which we do have at Ladner Massage Therapy. This is the unit we ordered today.... May 30th is our fingers crossed we are open day...some of our RMTs will come back first or second week of June and please note that we will have shorter work days with strict scheduling and cleaning routines. We very much appreciate it as we currently do not have a re-open date however we are coming close to one!... Our guidelines were released to us yesterday from our regulatory college the CMTBC. We have also received an official letter today from our Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Henry saying that BC was in a position to ease restrictions on health care services beginning the week of May 19, 2020. Dr. Henry urges us to proceed with caution as health professionals are accountable to ensure the health and safety of their patients and clients, colleagues, and support staff in every healthcare setting. We are diligently working on our procedures and protocol for our re-open plan based on her direction to ensure that we have strong infection prevention and control protocols and occupational health and safety practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our clinic. We are sure most of you saw our Premier's announcement today listing Massage Therapists under Phase 2 which is set to begin in the middle of May. Thank you for your calls, emails and texts asking for appointments based on this timeline. ... Please know that your safety as well as the safety of our therapists and our community is of utmost importance and our deepest concern. We are working diligently to keep up to date and make changes according to all the current recommendations outlined by our health professionals. Our regulatory board (CMTBC) announced today that they are working on the safety policies and procedures, basically protocol for all RMTs to follow at this time during world health concerns regarding COVID-19. These will then need to be approved by our BC public health officer before we can re-open (Dr. Henry and her team). We also are on the waiting end for now. When we receive the approved protocol with all recommendations for safety to everyone, and can implement them, we will open our doors. Hello Ladner and Tsawwassen: Today we had a theft at Ladner Massage Therapy. A relatively young woman (18-22 is a guess) with dark hair that may have been swept up but the RMT is not sure walked into our back office and picked up a backpack with some ID, credit cards and cash. The cash was in US currency. Here is a picture of the backpack if new. Please call the Delta Police if you have any information.
