Carburetors! There is even an old song singing that that’s what life was all about... A long time ago before fuel injection came around in the mid eighties every vehicle came with one to give your engine the fuel it needs to run properly.... To this day, they are still a popular choice everywhere you go. The most important thing about them is this... They must be clean, lubricated and adjusted and tuned to your engine. As spring approaches and you fire up your car , check for fuel leaks... Would hate to hear of a fire... Today’s gas quickly expires quickly and turns into corrosive wiener water... This can cause havoc with your carburetor.. If you think your having any trouble with yours, they can be repaired or rebuilt or replaced and upgraded. This beautiful 1959 Ford Thunderbird was in the shop awhile back..., The cars interior and exterior and it’s overall condition was really nice, but the owner had decided an upgrade under the hood as in order. The owner had already upgraded the wheels and tires and added disc brakes, next in line was the engine and transmission.... The original 352/ cruise o matic with a generator had been replaced with a 390/c6 alternator combination at one time in an earlier upgrade. An aluminum headed 428 with a roller cam now resides in the car. A vintage aluminum Offenhauser intake manifold and a Quick Fuel 780 gets the fuel into the Edelbrock heads and a set of cast iron headers and custom exhaust gets the job done through a set of stainless Borla mufflers. The engine also has a MSD ignition system and has a nice set of vintage valve covers and a ribbed oval air cleaner to top it off. The transmission is a C6 with a shift kit and a stall converter. Installing this motor and transmission seemed straight forward at first. However there was certainly some surgery required because of the cast iron headers. The front cross member was modified for fitment. Repairs and upgraded modifications to the brake lines , electrical, cooling ,exhaust and fuel systems also took place. It was great to work along side the customer on this project. The car owner rolled up his sleeves and very much did a lot of the work it took on this under hood upgrade. We were able to make decisions together , and do the work together to satisfy the end goal. The car looks great and runs even better! This car is a great example of local success and getting the right people together on a project! The engine/transmission and exhaust was all custom built to spec locally. All the parts from local suppliers. There are a lot talented great people locally ready to help on your project. Here’s a mid seventies Ford truck that came into the shop awhile back for a few repairs... One of the things on the list was a bit of rust repair. The cab corners had seemingly already been repaired. An inspection from underneath showed that repair attempt was to simply glue the new panels over the rust using construction adhesive, then use bit of body filler to blend the unwelded seam..... This result was poor and very much lacking quality.. The box was removed for access to the repair area, then the repairs were carried out in a proper manner. A more modest repair size was chosen, leaving as much original Ford steel in place as reasonably possible. Then the rusted areas removed and repaired and repainted between the panels. The replacement cab corners and repair pieces welded into place. This will produce a high quality repair that will last for a long time and give many years of trouble free service. Another great day! Had a chance to lend a bit of a hand on this Chevy truck! The man behind this project is doing a great job of putting this nice truck together for his beautiful wife! ... She was given the truck for Christmas and has also played a role in the construction of the truck and has done a great job at finishing the wood for the bed floor and much more! It has been a real joy being involved with this as there is many talented people from the community coming together to contribute their skills to this project! The truck is sure to be a crowd favorite wherever it goes! Life just keeps getting better!!

Another nice old truck was in the shop... Very much a great example of a grass roots truck that has some simple upgrades done to it. The owner has asked me to get it running better. His goal was to be able to use his nice old truck and take his wife out on a date. I got the truck running nice , the rest is up to him.... Did some work on this nice old pickup the other day... Installed a new set of headers for the really nice guy who owns it.... The truck has been in the family longer than he has... Brought in a ringer to help with the header install..

Another great opportunity to do some work on a beautiful old Ford truck for a really nice fellow and his family! A 1972 F100 bought new by the current owners grandfather and has been in the family since! It got freshened up under the hood and under the truck and inside. The motor and transmission were inspected and found to be quite sound so a refurb of the exterior of the engine took place. The cooling system was replaced and the carb and ignition system rebuilt as well.... Some new exhaust and repairs to the lights and some other new parts has this beauty of a truck on the road for many more years! It’s absolutely wonderful to be part of helping people with their family treasures! A little while back a really nice gal and her husband brought out this beautiful 1958 Edsel Corsair for a bit of repair and maintenance. I am honored to help with this car... The car is a fantastic example of the Edsel Corsair. It is a local car that was restored by the owners and local shops! It has won awards and has travelled to the United States. It really is a beautiful car!... Also pictured along the 58 is a 59 and 60 Edsel. They are both Ranger models. It’s not very often all three years are pictured together...

Stupid winter.... Learn this...

Here’s a red Galaxie that’s pretty nice... The story is even nicer... A real nice guys first classic car,bought it in mind of spending time with his wife and kids getting ice cream , taking the kids to school and enjoying being a family.... The owner enjoys the car lots and isn’t scared to do some work on it and have the kids help along! While it was here the floors and trunk were repaired, got the 390 engine running really nice and some other items under the hood and under the car. An interesting safety item was also introduced as an upgrade. Shoulder strap seatbelts were added front and rear to the car. After setting forth a vision and plan with the customer the belts were added and work very well. Another example of helping make an old car a bit better.. Let me know if I can help your old car...

Had this beauty lil hot rod out a little while ago for a visit... The customer and I worked together on the carburetor and distributor sorting out a few things... It was running better and we have a plan for more in the future...... It was great to spend some time with him and his nice car!
