Searching for a spring restorative yoga training? I highly recommend this one!
Take that rest day!
Help me choose the pose we'll work toward for this Thursday's Challenge class! Whether you registered for the class or not, let me know in the comments which one of the below you'd choose. Lord of the Dance (sometimes called Dancer) One leg king pigeon pose Revolved half moon pose... Sage Vasistha's pose (pictured) The real fun is in the work we do in the approach to the pose and there are LOTS of options to make each of these poses accessible. Don't be intimidated by the idea of a Challenge class. They are suitable for all students with an understanding of yoga asana fundamentals and personal body awareness who are looking to explore progressively more challenging poses. These practices are playful and curious. Together we approach a 'peak' pose in a way that is safe, exploratory and thoughtful. You do NOT need to have an advanced yoga practice to participate, just the ability to be curious and explore your body's strengths, while respecting it's natural limitations. Want to join us? The class is "live" online, this Thursday, 7-8:30 p.m. Cost: $15 If you cannot attend live, a class recording is sent to everyone registered after class. Register at https://kimsheridanyoga.com/registration
Loving my new B Mat, it’s incredible - how did I not know what I was missing all this time?!
Let’s talk about...FEET! So important, but SO under appreciated for all we put them through each day. I’d love to plan an entire class, focused exclusively on feel good foot care and health. Would you check it out?
Class 3 of 4 in the current class series, ESTABLISH, is tomorrow and I am already looking forward to planning for ONWARD! The current class series has a great group of students participating, either "live" online or with the class recordings. I find that there is SO MUCH value in a week to week progression - it's just a really good way to learn and teach. No need to have taken ESTABLISH before registering for ONWARD, which also runs on Saturday mornings, 0900-1015, starting on Feb. 20. It is recommended that you have taken some yoga previously, as we will be continuing to layer on from the current series. If you really would like the opportunity to take ESTABLISH classes prior, you may opt to register for ESTABLISH as well and I can send you the recordings to do at your leisure.
Let's explore...SHOULDERS! Learn how to stabilize and strengthen one of the the most mobile and vulnerable joint(s) in the body. This focused 'Save my Shoulders! Class' will offer lots of modifications, even for those of you with cranky shoulders out there! This class is being offered online & recorded for those that are unable to attend "live".... Monday, Feb. 15 (BC Family Day), 10-11:15 a.m. Cost: $15 Registration: https://www.kimsheridanyoga.com/registration
Sore and stiff shoulders? Have months of working from home in front of the computer with less than ideal office ergonomics caused nagging discomfort? Join me for this special class, focused exclusively on shoulder health. Offered live online, with a recording available afterwards.
It’s been a while since I last taught an intermediate yoga class! Join me for this playful and challenging class, offered live online, with a recording available afterwards.
I'm SO looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning! If you haven't registered yet, there's still time.
Sounds really interesting. Makes me want to start a yoga book club so we can read it together and talk about afterwards!
This is so on point...
A quality training for those of you ready to take a (or another) 200 hour program - highly recommend Rebecca Marshall and the Haven Yoga & Wellness team.
Fall flowers I hope everyone is settling well into more regular routines, shorter and cooler days, and all that this wonderful season has to offer (pumpkins, sweaters, and lit fireplaces!).
Terry Fox Run Day! Come on Delta, let’s get out there...join the event, register, donate and run/walk. #onedayyourway #TerryFoxRunND
Definitely a new element in prepping for a safe and comfortable weekend of teacher training during COVID times and can’t say I love it, but it’s what we have to work with right now. I do getting to offer this Restorative training in-person though, so we’ll make it work! Thanks to Studio B Yoga for making the training possible and Rebecca Marshall for stopping by to teach part of the weekend with me. It’s going to be super fun!
Prepping for my upcoming restorative yoga training at Studio B Yoga and came across this gem from a previous training - it still makes me laugh. It’s not my mat & prop set up (you know who you are! ), but I love this so much. It’s impossible to have too many bolsters, blankets and blocks at the ready.
