Join Laura tonight at 7:00pm for an awesome HIIT class! There is no registration required, so this should be all you need! Please play whatever music you'd like. Laura will instruct you! Please have a mat, supportive running shoes, appropriate athletic clothing, weights (or soup can, water bottles etc.), a skipping rope (not required) and water to drink!... Notes for all classes: 1. Please log in at least 5 mins before the scheduled start time so you can work out any technical issues. The class will start right on time and there will be a verbal review at the start that you must hear. 2. Everyone must have their camera on so the instructor can do their best to correct incorrect posture/alignment etc. We are trying to run this class as close to an in-person class as possible! The amount of individual attention will depend however on the volume of attendees. 3. Please ensure you have done a PAR-Q verbal or written check in the past 12 months or since any changes in your health. If you have not, please read this (http://eparmedx.com//20/03/January2020PARQPlusFillable.pdf). If you answered no to all the PAR-Q questions, you can be reasonably sure that you can exercise safely and have a low risk of having any medical complications from exercise. If you answered "Yes" to any of the PAR-Q questions, tell your health professional before starting any fitness program. 4. By participating in a virtual fitness or yoga class hosted by the Lake Louise Sport & Recreation Centre, you are agreeing to the terms laid out in our release form and understand that while the instructor will do their best to identify and correct any unsafe behaviour, there is an increased risk doing fitness at home. Your waiver can be found attached to this post. 5. Each participant will be muted, so please indicate to the instructor by raising your hand if you have a question. 6. Please ensure your zoom "name" is correct as this is what the instructor will use to address you. Here is your scheduled Zoom meeting. The rink is open! We still have some ice on the far side which we have blocked off with the dividers. Do not move them as it is a safety hazard. Please have fun and enjoy the space responsibly. Remember to maintain 2m distance from anyone not in your household and do not share equipment.

We know many of you are eager to get on the rink to play basketball. We are close to opening and are working hard to safely let everyone on. In the meantime, please obey the posted signage - we have had to kick off a lot of users who have ignored signage, locked gates and caution tape. That being said, we have cleared off the outdoor half court and you can use it at you own risk whenever you’d like! Note there is still a bit of water so be safe and mindful of water and ice.

Hi friends, we have implemented some changes at the rink. We have done this for the safety and enjoyment of our patrons, and also to protect our equipment. Starting today we have put the dividers out and put one net out. Patrons are not permitted to move these. Each half of the rink can have a maximum of 10 people. If you show up and there are too many people, you cannot skate. If you show up and there are 10 people playing with sticks, but only 2 on the skating half, ...you are welcome to skate on that half but no sticks and pucks are permitted. In addition, the single net is for shooting only - not organized games. You MUST maintain 2m distance at all times. We added the net because people were slamming pucks against the boards and damaged 3 that will have to be replaced. Please remember that when you destroy stuff here at the rink, it just means less money we can spend on new stuff for you! If people cannot follow the rules, we will have no choice but to close the rink. Don't be the person that ruins it for everyone! If you see someone not following the rules, please remind them, or shoot us an email at [email protected]. We would rather just remove the people that are causing an issue rather than having to close it for everyone.

Hi friends! Lets keep our community safe! I know a number of you were tested through your work this week, but for those of you who weren't, check out the attached info bulletin on a pop up testing site they are opening in Banff this weekend. We have been asked by AHS to share this information as wide as possible so that we get as many in the Bow Valley tested as can be. Have a wonderful and safe weekend!

Happy New Year!

Lake Louise Sport and Recreation Centre 07.12.2020

It is crazy to think this is the final day of 2020! Despite the crazy year we were thrown, we are so proud to be part of this wonderful community. 2021 will hopefully be easier for all of us - and we will continue to be here for all of you! Reminder: there is no HIIT with Laura this evening. Please remember to stay safe tonight and follow all guidelines so we can visit in person again soon!

Lake Louise Sport and Recreation Centre 06.12.2020

Hi everyone! The rink will be CLOSED tomorrow January 9th from 9am-4pm as we do snow removal on the roof. People will also not be able to walk the road between the rink and the community hall so if you need to access the dog park, you will need to go down the path beside the playground that cuts between the ball diamonds. It will be extremely unsafe so please share!

Hello friends! To support our neighbours and coworkers in Lake Louise who need to isolate right now, perhaps we can use this post to share if we are willing to pick up a grocery order in Canmore for someone who has pre-ordered online? Or if we have an abundance of food at home, coordinate a contactless delivery to their place to address their immediate needs? You can also use this post to share if you need some help (you can also email [email protected] and they... will help coordinate something). Please check in with each other and we will get through this! Please also touch base with your HR department as they might have some plans in place.

Santa has once again made us his Lake Louise letter "hub"! Parents, please have your child write a letter to Santa and mail it to us here. Your child will get a personalized response from Santa (or whomever they want to write to IE Mrs. Claus, an elf etc.). We need to receive your letter by December 13th to guarantee you a response by Christmas! Lake Louise Sport & Recreation Centre Attn.: Santa Claus PO Box 58... We have made the decision to cancel our Kids Holiday event and gift program this year. Instead, we have decided to divert the funds we would have spent on gifts for local children, and re-allocate them to our Lake Louise Family Holiday Assistance Program. If you have been financially impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and are concerned that you will not have the means to provide gifts to your children or put a holiday dinner on the table this year, please email us at [email protected] no later than December 11th (but the sooner the better). Please pass this along to your HR departments so it can be shared with all families in Lake Louise. In addition, be sure to share information on Santas Anonymous. They support families in Banff & Lake Louise and details can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/SantasAnonymousBLL

Thank you Davina Bernard for sharing this and thank you to the LL RCMP for helping us keep the rink open. Do your part everyone! We are a small organization and we cannot staff the rink 24 hours a day so if people cannot respect the rules we will be forced to close.

Hi friends! Its that time again, we are building ice! Please keep off as damage could seriously delay our opening and cause injury to you. We are hoping to be open early December, so spread the word! Also, the deadline to register for a spot as a hockey manager is this Friday. We need 4 teams to run the league and we only have 1. Let us know if you are planning on entering a team!

Lake Louise Sport and Recreation Centre 25.09.2020

Hi hockey enthusiasts! Reminder that the registration closes for managers to sign up a team tomorrow at 4:00pm! You don’t need to have your players signed up, just you as a manager (and pay the team fee). Then we will set up your registration portal for your 11 other players. If we don’t have all 4 spots filled we won’t be able to run a league this year! If you are worried about Covid potentially shortening the season (which is valid and possible), please know we would issue you a pro rated refund based on the number of weeks left in the league (only if the league shuts down as a whole).

Hello friends. Please find below the change in status for Improvement District No. 9 region (which includes Lake Louise and the Town of Banff): Good afternoon, At 4pm today, Improvement District No. 9 will move to Enhanced Status on the Provincial Relaunch Status Map. This includes all communities within the District’s limits. I am able to share the following high-level data for the area:... 23 active cases, for a case rate of 166.1 per 100,000 people; 1 case has a known source of exposure (linked to travel); 22/23 cases have an unknown source of exposure at this time. Following the announcement on November 6 by Premier Kenney and Dr. Hinshaw, areas under Enhanced Status will now have a mandatory 15 person limit on social and family gatherings - indoors and outdoors - where people are mixing and mingling. This applies to all social gatherings, including but not limited to: banquets and award ceremonies; wedding or funeral receptions; luncheons or potlucks; parties: birthday, baby showers, retirement, dinners, backyard BBQs; other private social gatherings and functions. This mandatory measure does not apply to structured events, including but not limited to: seated-audience conferences, sports and shows; dining in restaurants; fitness centres; funeral services; wedding ceremonies; worship services. Additionally, all residents and visitors of communities on the watch list are recommended to adhere to the following voluntary measures: Limit your cohorts to no more than 3: your core household, your school, and one other sport or social cohort. Young children who attend child care could be part of 4 cohorts, given that child care settings have not been a high risk for spread. Wear a mask in all indoor work settings, except when alone in a workspace like an office or cubicle where you are safely distanced from others, or an appropriate barrier is in place. Additional measures for municipalities under Enhanced Status will be discussed at the 2pm call today with Dr. Hinshaw. If you have any questions or concerns that were not addressed at that forum, we will be happy to discuss these with you privately.
