As of Nov. 16, Windsor-Essex is in Yellow-Protect level of Ontario Government COVID-19 Response. There are new restrictions, including more requirements by Windsor-Essex County HEALTH UNIT. This means changes for fitness members at the Vollmer Complex. Specifically relating to fitness, there is a requirement to increase spacing between patrons from 2M to 3M for areas where there are weights/weight machines and exercise/fitness classes. Fitness class capacity will be reduc...ed from 10 people to 5 people (virtual options are still available). Aquafit classes will be reduced from 9 people to 6 people. Lap swimming will be reduced from 4 people to 3 people, and we will no longer accommodate a family bubble (ex. husband and wife sharing a lane). The fitness centre capacity remains the same, however the use of equipment will be staggered to allow use of every other piece of circuit equipment, every other piece of cardio equipment and every third treadmill. Ice users are returning to the Vollmer Complex in #LaSalle. Just like shopping is different and going to school is different, the activities at the Vollmer Comp...lex are different too. We are using a phased approach to invite participants into the facility. In order to make this all work for everyone, cooperation from all is required. Arrive when scheduled. No food or drink, other than water, is permitted in the facility (sorry parents and coaches: this means no coffee at this time). Coaches must start their team on time and end on time each rental is 50 minutes long and the best scenario is to ensure all equipment is picked up and the ice is cleared as the buzzer sounds. This sound means the ice resurfacer is coming onto the ice. Leave the facility as soon as skates are removed. Be kind and patient with everyone we are all learning to adjust. Front Rd. between Laurier Dr. and International Ave. is closed due to flooding. Please use an alternate route. If you see water over the road, slow down, turn around and avoid the area. Wake from vehicles causes damage to property and other vehicles. In addition, all trails located near Turkey Creek are closed and the bridge over Turkey Creek in Vince Marcotte Park is closed. The water level in Turkey Creek has not peaked, and is expected to rise throughout the day. The water in Turkey Creek is very fast moving and dangerous.
