Dr. Charles Pentland gave the final lecture today in Later Life Learning Belleville's Fall 2018 series "Canada at 150". Dr. Pentland spoke knowledgeably on the theme of "Canada: In a New World Orbit." Thank you, Dr. Pentland! Also, the theme and dates for the Spring 2018 series were announced today! The theme is "Great Cities of the World."... Our second last lecture of the Fall, 2017, series, featured a dynamic presentation by Dr. Janet Hiebert, Department of Political Studies, Queen's University. Her topic was "Canada: The Age of the Charter." Thank you, Dr. Hiebert! Our final lecture is next Wednesday, October 18. The speaker will be Dr. Charles Pentland from the Centre for International and Defence Studies, Queen's University. His topic will be: "Canada: In a New World Orbit". Dr. Duncan Sinclair, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Queen's University, spoke eloquently today on the topic "Canada: The Triumphs, Troubles, and Travails of Medicare", an insightful analysis of Canada's health care systems. Next week, the second last speaker in the current series will be Professor Janet Hiebert from the Department of Politics, Queen's University, who will be speaking on the topic "Canada: The Age of the Charter".
