Do you feel STUCK . Have you done a million diets and never been successful? . Are you feeling like fitness is something you really should do but in your gut know that you aren’t committed or ready?... . Do you consider fit people to be more energetic, less stressed and more disciplined... and you just can’t seem to get your sh*t together? . What if I told you the problem is not with your discipline. What if you’re not lazy but misinformed and fighting an uphill battle that was never intended for you to win. . Human beings are complicated AF. The fitness industry and all big business likes to make it seem like it’s your fault that you didn’t lose the weight, stick to the program, meet your goal. What if the program was the process and not the person participating? . Yes, you have to put in the work. Yes, it is challenging, but it shouldn’t be a trek through the bowels of hell to achieve a goal (yes, I’m dramatic I know ) . My new coaching biz means I get to do things MY way. Less shame, less guilt, less RESISTANCE. More empathy, more understanding and more excitement! Guys, if you look at your fitness routine and it makes you sigh in dread - you are not the problem your program is. . It’s time the fitness industry started listening to people. Your stress is real. Your emotional eating is real. Your lack of time is real. That doesn’t mean it can’t be worked into your program. You don’t have to spend two hours in the gym seven days a week and eat tilapia and spinach to see results. . You need to master your mindset. You need to understand your why. You need to be given TOOLS to help you succeed in life not just a list of what not to put in your mouth so you don’t gain body fat! . Fitness and personal development have changed my life and if I could bottle it and give it to you I would. Instead, how about a phone call? Or a coffee date? No bs sales consult. Just a real conversation about where you’ve been, where you’re at and where you’re headed. Because babe, you’re not the problem. We cannot be, what we cannot see . Someone asked me yesterday how I have the confidence to record and share a workout in my sports bra. The truth is, I do and I don’t. Let me explain. . I don’t because it’s still uncomfortable for me. I look at the footage of my plus-size body moving and I see the extra body fat, the skin rolls and dimples.... . I do, because it’s needed. It’s needed to build my confidence and to be visible to the public. Mainstream fitness largely lacks representation of women with larger bodies. Plus, I have thick skin (pun intended) and If it means getting negative dm’s about how unattractive my body is, I will gladly take the heat if it means YOU feel more comfortable moving your body. . That’s the honest truth. It helps me solidify my confidence and it paves the way for other women to do so also! . One reason many women don’t do yoga, run, or lift weights is not because they don’t want to, it’s because they don’t see anyone LIKE THEM doing it. . I’m not knocking anyone who is incredibly fit or shredded - I’m the first to applaud your discipline and I know how much work it takes to maintain that kind of physique. At the same time, as someone who was morbidly obese, I can say from experience that I wish I had seen bigger bodies in motion at the beginning of my journey. I wish I knew athlete wasn’t a size. . You don’t have to hide with at home workouts or women’s only gyms or beginner classes. Fitness is not an exclusive club that demands a low body fat percentage to participate. We only think this because it’s all we see! . So why do I share my 240lb body exercising with no shirt on? I do it so you know you can too. You can do burpees with a belly, you can jump with your chest bouncing, you can yoga even if you have to modify to allow space for your body. . It breaks my heart to know that there are so many people who avoid movement and exercise because of what it looks like doing it. I have plenty of extra body fat, things move when I wish they wouldn’t, and it doesn’t always look pretty, but I’m here, showing up, for me and for you.
