London Youth Symphony 22.11.2020

Over the last few months, the LYS board and staff have been reviewing the guidelines and protocols set out by our provincial and local governments. With these in mind, we have had to make the heartbreaking decision to cancel the LYS’s 2020-21 season. Given the current Covid-19 crisis, we cannot present a viable orchestral experience to our members and to our audiences. We are committed to the orchestra’s future and will be planning a spectacular relaunch for the LYS in September 2021! We cannot wait to make music together again!

Unfortunately due to the COVID 19 situation we have had to cancel the rest of our season including our April 26 concert. We are sad that we cannot say goodbye in person to our members that are moving on to new adventures but we have many wonderful memories of their time with us. Please keep in touch and we are looking forward to next year's programs when we celebrate our 60th anniversary!

Meet Ballerina! She is our soloist for our upcoming concert (February 9th at 3pm at Dundas Centre United Church). A concert you won’t want to miss! When did you start playing? I started playing the piano when I was 4 years old and the violin when I was 10 years old.... What is your favourite piece? The Lark by Glinka (Piano) Why did you pick the instruments you did? I chose to play the piano because I had a piano at home since a young age and it caught my interest and attention. Later, I started playing the violin because I liked the tone of instrument and a friend had recommended me to take lessons. What is your hobby? Listening to music, photography. What do you like to do outside of music? Bake, draw and read.
