When I was young, I was surrounded by strong independent women who knew who they were and what they wanted. They never backed down to a challenge and could stand on their own two feet regardless of the obstacles thrown at them. It’s a bit easier now for women to make their mark on society, even though sometimes it’s still a bit challenging. Today, I’m proud to be surrounded by strong and determined women at home, work and in the community. It’s unfortunate that we cannot gather this year and celebrate International Women’s Day, but I believe we should celebrate women everyday and thank them for their contributions.
