What actions are you taking to protect yourself from occupational cancers? Let’s hear from all of you Senior officers to probationary firefighters! Ontario's Fire Fighters London Fire Department #FightFFcancer #FFCancerMonth #IAFF
There is nothing more important than vehicle safety. Take the extra minutes needed to fully clear your windows of ice and snow. Make sure you get the snow off the top of your car; otherwise, you are putting your fellow drivers in danger. #IAFFsafetytips
Ensure your vehicle is winter ready for the snowy road conditions moving in tonight. #IAFFSafetyTips #LPFFA
Tragic news from St. Louis. Our thoughts are with our brothers and sisters of St. Louis Fire Department tonight, and the family of brother FF Polson.
Fire fighters have a 9% higher chance of being diagnosed, and a 14% higher chance of dying of cancer than the general population. Lowering screening age limits and regular screening can help detect occupational cancers earlier. #FightFFcancer
While firefighting PPE and practices have come a long way, fires have also grown hotter and more toxic. As a result, we are seeing an alarming increase in fire fighter occupational related cancers. Cancer is the leading cause of fire fighter deaths. #FightFFcancer
January is Fire Fighter Cancer Awareness month. This month we bring awareness to the leading cause of fire fighter deaths. Did you know between 2015-2020, 75% of the fire fighters added to the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial died from occupational cancer? #FightFFcancer Ontario's Fire Fighters London Fire Department

Check your smoke alarms when you change your clocks for Daylight Saving Time. Press and hold you should hear a loud beep if it is good. IAFF Canada - AIP Ontario Government #IAFF #IAFFSafetyTips
As you’re changing the clocks, set aside some time to change out your smoke and CO alarm batteries too. And if your alarm is over 10 years old, it’s time to swi...tch it out for a new one (don’t worry, we’ve got a few options).

We honour our fallen fire fighters whose names would be forever etched on the Ontario Fire Fighter Memorial. Sadly this year, we would have added many new names to our memorial walls that have paid the ultimate sacrifice serving our communities. We encourage everyone to please pause for a moment of silence at 1 PM to reflect on all those that we have lost in the line of duty. Please share tributes on social media using the hashtag #opffa2020fallen. We hope to properly honour all the fallen at next year’s ceremony in 2021 when our world and our community emerges from the darkness of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today would have been the Ontario Fire Fighter Memorial at Queens Park. Please join us as we honour our fallen members with a moment of silence at 1:00pm. #opffa2020fallen Ontario Government IAFF Canada - AIP
