Learning to shut down your mind and your thoughts can be hard. Meditation is a great way to do this. One of my favourite ways is to put my headphones on and put on the app Breethe. It has plenty of free meditations, sleep stories and white noise to help shut down those multitudes of thoughts. Check the app out, it's one of my favs!

Anger or stress triggers are helpful when you are working to eliminate the negative responses. Happy triggers are the best and important to share to those who love you so they know the things that make you the happiest.

This exercise is designed to cultivate a heightened awareness and appreciation of simple daily tasks and the results they achieve. Think of something that happens every day more than once; something you take for granted, like opening a door, for example. At the very moment, you touch the doorknob to open the door, stop for a moment and be mindful of where you are, how you feel in that moment and where the door will lead you. Similarly, the moment you open your computer to sta...rt work, take a moment to appreciate the hands that enable this process and the brain that facilitates your understanding of how to use the computer. These ‘touchpoint' cues don’t have to be physical ones. For example, Each time you think of a negative thought, you might choose to take a moment to stop, label the thought as unhelpful and release the negativity. Or, perhaps each time you smell food, you take a moment to stop and appreciate how lucky you are to have good food to eat and share with your family and friends. Choose a touchpoint that resonates with you today and, instead of going through your daily motions on autopilot, takes occasional moments to stop and cultivate purposeful awareness of what you are doing and the blessings these actions bring to your life. Mindful Observation This exercise is simple but incredibly powerful because it helps you notice and appreciate seemingly simple elements of your environment in a more profound way. The exercise is designed to connect us with the beauty of the natural environment, something that is easily missed when we are rushing around in the car or hopping on and off trains on the way to work. 1. Choose a natural object from within your immediate environment and focus on watching it for a ...minute or two. This could be a flower or an insect, or even the clouds or the moon. 2. Don’t do anything except notice the thing you are looking at. Simply relax into watching for as long as your concentration allows. 3. Look at this object as if you are seeing it for the first time. 4. Visually explore every aspect of its formation, and allow yourself to be consumed by its presence. 5. Allow yourself to connect with its energy and its purpose within the natural world. See more

How would you do?

Getting an entire family up, dressed, fed, and out the door (on time) could easily become a recipe for disaster. What if I told you that it's possible to create a positive morning routine for your kids, even with hectic and rushed schedules? Beginning the day with a positive routine instills confidence that enables them to take risks and develop their potential with greater focus.... So here are the 5 key steps: 1. Reconnect: find a simple practice to bond after a long night (snuggle in bed for 5 minutes, hold hands, etc.) 2. Organize: create a space housing the visuals and supplies that keep them on track (morning routine checklist, backpack hooks, etc.) 3. Set Positive Intentions: practice affirmations like "Today will be a great day!". The more you practice, the more real it becomes. 4. Set the Stage: engage your child’s five senses to create a positive association with morning routines (play music, burn candles, etc.) 5. Practice and Rehearse: As you practice the new routine, remember to pause and notice your child's efforts, discuss what works and what doesn't. You can also find a printable Morning Routine Chart inside the Positivity and Connection Kit which is currently FREE with any journal or kit purchase in our store (ends Dec. 28th, 11.59 pm PST). My Morning Routine Shadow GET FREE KIT WITH PURCHASE * Doesn't apply to past purchases. The sale ends December 28, 11:59 p.m. PST. Remember that each morning provides a new opportunity to establish a positive, growth-centered trajectory for our (and their) whole day! One BIG accomplishment done :) I have been working on my CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Practitioner's Certification persistently for 2 months after I completed my CBT Certification. I have already been specializing in CBT in my Life Coaching business, an area I thoroughly enjoy and plan to specialize in.

CBT or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is about how we think and how to change the way we think to be positive, healthy and under control (addictions, phobias, OCD, ADHD, anger, stress, anxiety, etc.) to allow us to lead productive, meaningful lives. As a Certified Master Life Coach and Certified CBT Coach, I encourage anyone to look into coaching in any of these areas to improve your life. There are also many other great resources and even ones for children. I came across th...is series of podcasts that I highly recommend for children and even adults. Their journals are great too. If you are a teacher these journals are a fabulous tool to integrate into your daily teaching to instill positive mindsets, and healthy, confident thinking. https://biglifejournal.com/blogs/blog See more
