Mach One Games 21.06.2021

These videos take me too long to do. I'm going to scale back and try to do quicker and more succinct blurbs in the future. Most of my off-time should be devoted to getting the game ready for the next phase, not fiddling with video clips and fumbling over my words. Let me know if there is any topic you want me to do a *short* video on.

A long dissertation into scale in Dungeons and Dragons. It traces why we have lost space on the battlefield. In early editions, with 25mm miniatures and a hex grid, they downscaled the 1-inch grid to represent 3.5ft. In 3rd Edition, they made things smaller by moving to a 5ft grid, prevented two people from occupying the same space (which they could do in 1st Edition -- and there was no notion of "a space" in Chainmail), and miniature sizes increased to 32mm. Effectively they cut the space on the table by three to four times. Other RPG's followed the standards set by the leader and we have very crowded tables and very static action sequences. https://youtu.be/2tFAQh7HEQQ

I was wondering if I could get some feedback on a video intro I spliced together. Should it include the clips of martial arts as well as the dice rolling and talking heads? Just like the books that I shameless put behind me to suggest that my opinion is based on study; so my opinion about striking, grappling, sword and other weapons training, archery, and orienteering are similarly earned. It may be jarring, though as the connection is more tenuous. Maybe the martial arts junkies will even recognize some of the masters. Also, do you like the pace and the music? https://youtu.be/aeBWCnhYTho here is the video on YouTube, but you can only see it with the link. It isn't

We've picked up a few Aussie's on the page -- g'day to you fine folks... and please let us know if your dice spin the other way when you roll them? ;) Welcome to all the new members. In a few months I'd like to get some alpha tests out to groups who are interested in playing and providing feedback. If you have a gaming group who would play -- and provide feedback for -- a new system, please let them know that we will provide and ship the materials for this special phase. We only ask for criticisms or compliments (hopefully both) in return. Details to come in a few months.
