Maples Discovery Gardens Co-op 24.11.2020

Thank you for the views of our page as reports came into us of vehicles by the once ours driveway. We have no comment here, as we are are no longer on site. Since we are still needing to figure out what to do with our Facebook page, let us at least share with all of you an event that is what we always stand behind as a once prior, community organization.

Good evening, well we still are getting new followers, and new views on our Facebook page, but we are 100% closed as a garden. We thank you for the attention, but we can surmise that this attention is due to the normal anniversary of the start of #naturesclassroom that typically begins this week, after spring break. As a reminder, the program is still alive, and has been moved to the Langley Demonstration Garden. We thank Envision Financial and LEPS for the continuation ...of this program, and for including the involvement of our previous garden coordinator, Amanda to help with the program. We assume that you would like to see a photo, as we were always open to sharing them. Well, here is a Maple, a beloved one, which is no longer there. In the spirit of the #naturesclassroom theme for week one that is happening now, 'How Plants Work', plant a plant, savor nature as we remember it to be, and remember photosynthesis, and the importance of trees, and the cool workings of seeds. All the best, and continue to love our plants in our Township, as they are precious.

Happy Saturday! While the weather is great for the west coast, we are happy being cosy in our homes. This is just an update: our lease is now over at our beautiful sanctuary. We are no longer responsible for the security or beautification maintenance. It is sad, but true. In order to mourn the devastation of a green space, don't. Plant a new plant in your own space. If we all collectively do so, we just may make up for what will be demolished. #plants #grow #photosynthesis #air #beauty Any questions? Please call 604 825 7568.

Hello! We wish our Langley Community, and all of our supporters, the very best of holidays. We hope you get lots of rest! While we are gardeners in other capacities, we are still humanists. One love everyone!

Such a wonderful day! This photo is a GOOD news story! And quite frankly, the biggest relief it made us cry. Not only did we find someone to take our 500 lb concrete salmon, it is going to the home of a staff member of the Langley Inclusion Society (formerly the Langley Association of Community Living). We are so tearingly overjoyed that this fabulous artwork made it's way out, without being stolen, bulldozed, or vandalized. The most wonderful Christmas gift we could have right now!

Announcement time! As we are weeks away from closing for good, it is time we start our dissolution plans. And this involves our last funds in our bank account. These funds were never enough for us to rebuild (and development is coming soon anyway), but we can give back to our Langley community as this is what WE as a garden believe in, and how we want to go out as an organization. This month, we have given $1000 to the Yorkson Community Garden Society to assist with the p...urchase of a picnic table. We are also holding in reserve, $5000 to be donated to the ABSL (Arboretum & Botanical Society of Langley). The funds given to this society at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum is not at this time attached to a specific project, but will be discussed with the ABSL board and the Township of Langley in the ongoing months. We must continue to support green spaces in Langley. In the end, they are important to our livelihood as a community, and these spaces do so much for our mental health, and soul. Here is to us all, in years to come, try to live in a 'stress free zone'. Have a great day, EVERYONE!
