A collection of wood carvings by an Indigenous man has made their way back into the arms of his daughter. The collection, owned by the Del Guidice family in Timmins for 30 years, was handcrafted by Tobie Mathews in the early 1990s.

Today is a special one It’s my 10 year anniversary with CTV News Northern Ontario! Can you believe a decade has gone by already!? Through the years, I have reported in Timmins, North Bay and Sudbury... and just about everywhere in between. I also had the pleasure of bringing (the always sunny) weather forecasts to the north and touring the region to meet you all in person on my annual green tour! Now, leading the 6pm and late newscasts is something I could have only dreame...d of 10 years ago when I packed up and moved to Timmins to start my career, fresh out of college! It’s been an absolute joy bringing you the stories of the north and I look forward to the next 10 Oh and I just so happen to be working today so tune in at 1130 and join me in celebrating
