So much speculation about launches, so we will clarify that our customers are able to launch their boats to put at the dock. Waters remain murky regarding the law about using your boats or fishing. The inner bay sanctuary is closed just as always, however other than that, it seems unclear and is between the individual boater and law enforcement. As far as we were told, recreational boating is closed, the marina or launch is not going to police these matters and are still hoping for more clarification now that the provincial launches are opening. So I had a good conversation will Bylaw this afternoon and some things were cleared, most importantly that beginning next week, we will be able to allow some boats to be launched and secured to the docks, with the understanding that recreational boating is still closed. Of course, we need a minute to organize how we will transition and who needs out of the way first (speaking honestly, politics be damned as far as my wording) Please don’t bombard the girls with questions th...is weekend, Rob and I need to figure this out and will be able to answer questions after this weekend. We DO understand everyone’s urgency and we are feeling it too! It is never ideal to ask your customers to wait, amd it goes against what we have been raised and trained to do. Navigating this pandemic came with no manual for anyone, you or us, but we are sincerely trying to manage the balance to the best of our ability. Please take heart that progress may come slowly, but even this small thing is indeed progress. Boating is safe, we know that, but we also understand the need to work within the laws keeping the stellar reputation of boaters intact. Just wanting to touch base folks! We know everyone has questions regarding the stay at home order, and the new restrictions announced yesterday. Marina Shores strives to only post the most accurate information pertaining to OUR operation. At this time, we are working with our industry partners including Boating Ontario to get the full picture of what will and will not be allowed. For now, as always, we don’t open the park until May 1st as we are busy completing projects aro...und the park. Docks and sea walls are big jobs and are still being completed to welcome you at open. The marina will be full this year, the shop has undergone some big and welcome changes this year, the store is stocked and ready to provide curbside service for cash and carry items and as always, we can take work orders and get most things done over the phone. When there is a clear answer to what we can offer at the park, we will post it here. Remember, you all have an annual contract which is different than a short term rental. We will be posting only what is relevant to you, with acknowledgment that things do change, but we will post as we receive the information. Thank you and hang tight a couple weeks! See more

We apologize for anyone trying to get through on the phones, there was a scheduled power outage that was supposed to be over at noon but is now extended until 3:00, just like yesterday. Please bear with us as construction and tree removal on the Causeway is taking a toll on communication for a little while here.

Well hello everyone! What a wild ride that was, Mother Nature was really flexing her muscles yesterday! Wild winds and flooding are always part of operating on the water, and this one was definitely one for the record books. Thankfully, the guys had all boats and docks out of the water before the storm blew in and stored boats remain safely on their blocks and stands. Rob and his crew spent the day chasing docks that floated away and even last night chasing an ice chest do...wn the road... we are grateful for all the well wishes and understand all concerns. Our phones and hydro are out right now, and we really do need space within the park to move around freely so cannot permit any admittance at this time, as the guys need to do their work safely. We thank everyone who called and texted and messaged on Facebook, we know we have an awesome group of boaters, and we hope you know, that we are here working to keep things as they have always been for your return in the spring! In case you were wondering if it’s time to winterize...... It’s time to winterize.

As we start to prepare for end of season, I’m putting this up for our friends at Long Point Pest Control. because of covid 19 restrictions last year, I can assure you, there will not be the kind of casual access to trailers for check in purposes that we have enjoyed in most years. If you’ve had rodent issues, (most have not here at the marina, but I know a few have), this is a program I am using at home on the farm, and they will have access to the park on a schedule for anyone who likes to come down and check for these kinds of things and may not be able to. Allowing, as this is safe for our wildlife as well as our own pets who do still live and walk here in the off season.

Just going to put out a post as we move toward fall hours. As of Monday Sept 21, the marina will close at 4:30. So we will still be open 7 days a week just 8-4:30 now until Thanksgiving weekend

An interesting set of #Mustelid tracks appeared at the Tip of Long Point the other day. Fishers have been locally extinct in the region for quite some time, but... in April 2018 we discovered one at the Tip . Hey everyone and good morning! Apparently people have been asking at the office, when will the hydro at the park be off? This year will be just like every other, although official close is Oct 15, we will leave the juice on until Oct 19th to allow for a clean out after the thanksgiving weekend. As we know, the water is dropping by the day, and fall storms tend to pick up as the temps drop, so things will remain as they always have in the past when we can pull it off.

Well.....the little burst of rain will make sure any embers are dowsed! What an amazing show, thanks to our boaters who looked after the lighting of the fireworks, what an amazing job they did with the wind and rain! We could not be happier with our Marina Shores family! And we know boaters aren’t afraid of a little rain! Thanks for a wonderful summer, despite covid, or because of it (?) it was truly a special one, and we are grateful you chose to spend it here with us

Hello everyone! Wow, Labour Day weekend kind of snuck up on us after a pretty full summer, but it’s here! In light of the ongoing covid reality we are all living, we are unable to put on our usual party Saturday night. That said, we have a couple of socially distanced things going on to still celebrate our summer together. There will be an ice cream truck serving up some soft serve and slushies for our tenants (dessert if we can’t do supper) from 6:30-8:30 followed by some ...fireworks at 9. We are asking people not to try to view the display by boat, as we are sending them over the short cut and cannot do that if there are boats in the way, but we are confident these will be visible from all over the park wherever your spot is. If the wind is going the wrong direction, we will have Sunday for a back up plan, but we expect clear skies and favorable winds, so please join us...within your bubbles...for a little different celebration this Saturday evening See more
