Of course, life exists only in 3 spatial dimensions (i.e. length, breadth and height) because all bodies, including the planets, can only exist is 3 spatial dimensions. But why is it so? Why can the planets (and, everything else in the universe) exist in 1, 2 or 4 or 5 dimensions. Why only 3 dimensions? A space engineer -... not a physicist - was asked this question by his instructor on the first day of his work. This question is quintessential to our understanding of the physics of space (which an engineer needs to understand if he is to build rockets that orbit planets) and lies at the intersection of astrodynamics and relativistic physics.
