Thanks for having us on the speaker list today Covestro. It was a pleasure to discuss the future of foam recycling and meet other recycling industry innovators. One cool brand we learned about is OSOM BRAND: sustainable socks made 95% of discarded clothing!
Thank you to Vancouver Is Awesome for the fantastic profile on our meal program partnership with Backpack Buddies! Shout out to IKEA Coquitlam for letting us transfer the food in their parking lot each week.
Starting this week, in proud partnership with Backpack Buddies, we’re helping to deliver food to children who might otherwise go hungry over the weekends. Each week, our team picks up 200 meal bags from the Backpack Buddies van in Coquitlam and drives them out to Hope, where they’re stored at the local Food Bank and then distributed to schools in Hope, Agassiz and Boston Bar every Friday. A little preventative PSA: do not flush anything but toilet paper. Even flushable wipes.

Were in great company in this Business in Vancouver spotlight on garbage jobs
A while ago we put out a call to the public to save up their toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, razors etc. to bring in to us for recycling. Were happy to report that a Vancouver family took us up on the challenge and brought in ONE YEARS WORTH of plastic bathroom garbage. Thanks to the family for being so considerate to the environment! They dropped it off at our Hope facility on their way through to the Interior! Your turn... The challenge still stands: will you be the next zero-waste participants? LIKE and share to spread the word
Proud to have our reopening featured in Business in Vancouver!

What do you say?
The garbage has become a diplomatic nightmare for the Canadian government ... It has also become a symbol of the shadiness of the global recycling industry which sees millions of tonnes of plastics meant for recycling ending up in garbage dumps and incinerators overseas.
About as old as some of the mattresses weve recycled. But seriously, impressive little creatures.
We were in Vancouver International Airport the day this was being installed. We actually stopped and chatted with the technician about it. Were such recycling geeks.

Whats your favourite forest in B.C.?
Recycling tons of potential ocean plastics at the depot today. Each bale weighs 1,000 lbs! Recycling keeps items like these buckets, crates, lids and plastic and mesh bags from reaching our precious waterways. @ Hope, British Columbia
