Merry Christmas! Enjoy the great outdoors and time with loved ones (even if on zoom)! We’re looking forward to 2021! Enjoy your holidays!
Everything from grocery shopping to celebrating the holidays has been a little different this year. That is why we want to invite you to spice up your holiday s...eason with a training challenge! We would like to introduce the Festive Five Challenge! Inspired by the optimistic Festive 500 challenge hosted every year by Rapha with our own twist! This challenge can help give you a reason to ride, run, or just get your heart rate up this holiday season. We want to challenge you to complete FIVE DIFFERENT types of workouts from Christmas Eve (December 24th) to New Year’s Eve (December 31st). Activity types could include but are not limited to: - Indoor cycle - Outdoor cycle - Indoor run - Outdoor run - Skiing - Skating - Core strength / Yoga - Hiking - Tobogganing - Snowball fight? (like we said basically everything goes as long as you’re up and moving!) - It really doesn’t matter, just get out and be active in five different ways We hope this challenge inspires you to try new workouts and maybe to start a new holiday tradition! See you on the 24th!
At-home workouts don’t always mean staying indoors! With the fantastic weather we have been receiving lately and the weather we are expected to have over the ne...xt week, we encourage you to get out and enjoy the weather with a bike ride, a run or even a walk (all socially distanced, of course)! As Manitobans, we all know this warm weather will be short-lived! How are you taking advantage of the warm days this week?
With updated restrictions comes some changes to our programs. Effective immediately our Swim Program will be suspended. Our MTC Program Workouts and any Sanct...ioned Club Workouts will need to be completed on your own, with no group activities taking place indoors or out. These measures will be in place until further notice, we will be sure to share any updates as they become available. Congratulations Megan Van Heyst and Annika Niblock - this years Triathlon Manitoba Scholarship recipients. This year marks 25 years since the Triathlon Manitoba Scholarship was established. This scholarship was created in memory of Raivo Tamm to support young Triathletes who wish to continue participating in the sport while pursuing a post-secondary education on a full-time basis. The scholarship (valued at $500.00 for each recipient) was awarded to a student who has excel...led in competition, maintained a high level of academic standing while showing a commitment to amateur sport through his/her involvement in coaching and volunteer activities. MTC is proud to have both Annika and Megan represent our club and our sport. Congratulations! They are both first year students at the University of Manitoba.
