Clients often inquire about their applications status very believe the standard processing time published on IRCC website. However, processing time can be way longer than we expected. This is one of my clients whose EE application(which supposed to be finalized within 6 months) has been processed for almost 3 years and now the visa post in Singapore is still asking for additional documents.

These two rounds of invitation sent to PNP candidates yesterday and CEC candidates today. CEC still has 432 points is a surprise.

As expected, this public policy is extended.

Today, the same email came in multiple times for our CEC EE applicants. I guess this is because the Feb 14, 2021 round of selection sent out too many ITAs. Too many applications come in the same time so it is not a surprise that the processing time will be delayed. I don’t understand why IRCC decided to send out that many ITAs at the same time.

SINP’s most current EOI selection yesterday sent out ITAs to both EE and EOI candidates, referring to the table below. Too bad so sad that IT related NOCs such as 2173, 2174, haven’t been included in the rounds of selections for quite a while.

This is a great news for international students, which helps international students who’s PGWP will expire soon but their PR applications are still in processing to stay and work longer in Canada. I have a client whose PGWP will expire in April 2021, his CRS score is 450. Without this new policy, he has to stop work in April or we have to apply an LMIA to extend his work permit, now this policy just came in in time and help him to resolve his headache. Waiting for procedure details to advise my client.

As expected, another draw is conducted for CEC candidates. If IRCC keeps this pattern, CEC points will drop again.

2021’s first round of CRS selection sent out 250 ITAs yesterday, invited only PNP class candidates with minimum 813 CRS points.

NSPNP’s category used to be one of few programs overseas candidates chasing for. I was able to help a couple of clients, but it has been closed for some years, now it was closed permanently.

Now paper-based PR applications for business, entrepreneur, and self-employed programs are also placed on hold. Previous, PNP paper-based applications were requested to put on hold if the job offer or job is lost due to COVID-19 pandemic. IRCC gives up to March 2021 for these affected applicants to find a new eligible job to resume their applications.

IRCC just did Express Entry #166 round of invitations, CRS went up even higher to 478, compare to 471 for last time. 4500 candidates will be invited in this round.

IRCC extended this poblic policy, allowing temporary residents to restore their status beyond 90 days.

SINP did ITA draws for both OID and EE yesterday afternoon, with 68 cut-off points for both. For SINP EE draw, they did something not usual, which SINP specifically put more requirements other than the points. It invited candidates with 10 years of working experience and language skills above CLB 8. Good part is that SINP still keeps twice a month in sequence for so far. Congratulations to all members who receive ITA. Prepare your application well to ensure a good result.

2020 is such a challenging year for all of us. I wish all of my friends and families stay safe and healthy and enjoy your holidays. 2021 is another year, we will make it better.

IRCC just released its immigration plan for year 2021-2023. I am happy to see the numbers. It is not a surprise to see the numbers are over 400k for each of the following 3 years. IRCC has another good policy announced today, which allows the applicants from inside Canada to have their work permit or study permit be issued inland. The initial Work permits or study permits are always issued at POE. Previous, the applicants have to do flag-poling or leave and return to Canada to get their permits.

Currently it takes 121 days to get your first PR card after landed as new immigrants. I have a client landed on Oct 01, 2020 and is worrying about where their PR cards are now. You have to be patient, Raj.

People get frustrated now. I have multiple inquires from clients whose PR applications were sent to IRCC Central Intake Office (CIO) haven’t received any acknowledgement for months. CIO has reduced workforce to handle these paper applications, and now it is very slow. I just cannot imagine how its mail room looks like now, must be occupied by piles and piles of packages. I am still waiting for acknowledgment letter for my clients whose packages were delivered in April 2020. It is such a long wait, and the thing even worse is that we don’t know how much longer we have to wait.
