Meet Jonathan Salama-Siroishka, a four-year member of McGill University's woodsmen program from Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue who graduated in 2020 with a degree in bioresource engineering. "I was involved with the woodsmen program for the entirety of my McGill career, beginning on the rookie squad in my freshman season and working my way up to the most experienced team. I was also on the varsity council (as a team rep) for my final three seasons. Being involved with the program was a great highlight of mine, but required a ton of hard work, discipline and early mornings - all of which have helped me get to where I am today." McGill University Athletics & Recreation Women in Sports program is proud to present The Fulfilled Student-Athlete Community. This is a unique and powerful way to build the foundation for a smoother transition out of university sports as well as a fulfilled life beyond the field. It is an online community for female athletes where you will discover five video and written prompts over a 30-day period. The goal is to help you build self-awareness, proactively take charge of yo...ur wellbeing, establish goals for yourself beyond your sport, and allow you to support each other along your respective journeys. You will also get the opportunity to take what you have learned and create actionable steps that can enhance your individual experience, through university and after graduation. A few optional Q&As will enable you to come together as a group, ask additional questions, and further explore each prompt. Meet Sarah-Lena Grogg, a member of McGill University's women's golf program currently pursuing a degree in psychology. The second-year native of Maskinonge, QC. is spending the holiday season with family after having spent the majority of the semester in Montreal completing her online courses and training as much as possible. "This year has been a really tough one for everyone, but I feel as though I've grown quite a bit as a person. Comparing myself to where I was last year, these hardships have allowed me to discover myself to a greater degree and really shown me the value of connection and being with the people who are most important to you. I like to think I've made the best of the situation and am feeling food about the new year." Full story -> https://mcgillathletics.ca//home-and-away-series-mcgill-go

Meet Kellyane Lecours an education senior and star forward on the McGill University women's hockey team. The 23-year-old native of Victoriaville, Que., has opted to complete her online studies this year from her hometown, located 160 kilometres east of Montreal. "I've been home since the beginning of the fall semester," said Lecours, a major in elementary and kindergarten education who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average last year to merit Academic All-Canadian status ...and earn a berth on the Principal's Student-athlete Honour Roll. "When I heard over the summer that school was probably going to be online, I was lucky enough to sublease my downtown apartment (in Montreal). So initially, when we were allowed to train as a team in September, I would drive back and forth between Victoriaville and Montreal for practice."
