***URGENT ACTION ITEM: MAY 30, 2020*** We are all facing the ongoing situation with COVID-19, so, we certainly hope this finds you doing well. Despite the pand...emic, the government process for the proposed CN Logistics Hub continues, as do our efforts. Milton RAIL, Milton Says No, the Town of Milton and the Regional Municipalities of Halton are working together to stop this project at this inappropriate and dangerous location. It is time for us to ask cabinet ministers to REFUSE this project. Please participate in this public postcard mailing campaign #SayNo2CNhub. We have created a variety of postcards to mail to the cabinet ministers involved in this decision. In the interest of maintaining pandemic hygiene protocols, we have team members ready to fill out and mail these postcards on your behalf. OR if you are comfortable, you can request postcards to fill out and mail on your own and we'll get them to you. SO, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO? Just comment here that you (and your family members) will participate and we'll get your info to complete a postcard on your behalf OR use the form--link below--to receive postcards to mail out yourself. NO POSTAGE IS REQUIRED. https://forms.gle/XVStmsu7rQxXYXgu8 It's that simple. Please, stand with us in support of the Regional Municipalities of Halton: City of Burlington ~ Halton Hills ~ Town of Milton ~ Town of Oakville PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION, ALL ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE. STAY WELL. #MiltonRAIL #MiltonSaysNo #CNIntermodal #CNRAIL #CNR #cdnpoli #intermodalterminal #miltonlogisticshub

Proud of Halton Region, Milton and our MP for standing up for Miltonians

This morning Mayor Krantz is on a flight to Ottawa along with the Mayors of Halton Hills, Oakville and Burlington. He is going to meet with PMO staff and Minister Garneau to ask the Federal Government to refuse CN’s proposed intermodal in Milton. At 1:30pm there will be a live stream at Halton.ca/CN Our Milton MP Adam van Koeverden will be there with Mayor Krantz to also voice his strong opposition to CN’s proposal and support Milton and Halton Region in our position. I and my fellow councillors were with Mayor Krantz until very late last night at a council workshop. He and regional council have my full support in their position which they will strongly present today in Ottawa. Go online today at 1:30 to watch the press briefing live

I’m getting 50 of these for Ryan and Kevin to give out to their classmates at school Milton is excited to launch Valentine’s Day cards this February as a heart-healthy option for kids to share with their friends this upcoming holiday. Each Valentine card entitles the recipient to enjoy a free swim or skate at Town facilities. We are excited to offer the Milton community this new promotion as a cost-effective way to encourage kids to stay active said Kristene Scott, Comm...issioner, Community Services. Giving the experience of swimming or skating is a sweet way to show you care this Valentine’s Day. Packages of Ten (10) Valentines are available for just $5 and are available for purchase at the Milton Sports Centre, Milton Leisure Centre and Sherwood Community Centre. Coupons are valid for children 12 years and younger, and can be redeemed from February 14 to June 30, 2020.
