We LOVED having Mr. Kohl in the shop, he made the big trip all the way from Barrie! Can you tell by his + that he is excited to get back on the ice with his brand new Jackson skates and show off his tricks (World’s biggest waltz jump!). NEED YOUR SKATES SHARPENED? Skate sharpening will be available TODAY from 10am-3pm. Walk-ins are welcome. Appointments still required for skate fittings! ... *Skate sharpening is done on a first come, first serve basis. Physical distancing guidelines are in place at the shop.

NEW HOURS ALERT! Starting this week, we will be back in the shop every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to take care of all your skating needs. Your safety is still our biggest concern therefore, we will continue to do skate fittings by appointment only. This allows us to provide you with the superior customer service we strive for, while maintaining a clean, safe and controlled environment. However, for skate sharpening/equipment tune-up/accessories you are more than welcome to stop by the shop at any time during store hours (listed below) and we would love to take care of you! It has been SO great seeing our skate shop family over the past few months. We are thrilled that everyone is getting back on the ice doing what they love!

[Insert happy dance] Starting Tuesday, June 16th, we will be open BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. To inquire about booking an appointment please email: [email protected]. As a result of COVID-19 and in an effort to continue to keep our customers, employees and community safe and healthy, there will be a few changes on how we will operate moving forward. While these changes may not be forever, they will be implemented for the foreseeable future. For the time being, we will only be open... by appointment only. Appointments allow us to provide you with the superior customer service we strive for, while maintaining a clean, safe and controlled environment without interruption. You will be required to book an appointment for ALL services such as skate fittings, skate sharpening, remoulding, skate maintenance, purchasing skating equipment and/or accessories etc., as this will help us limit the number of customers in the shop at one time. We also ask that all customers adhere to a few simple physical distancing guidelines when they come into the shop. We will send you these guidelines when we confirm your scheduled appointment time and they will also be posted inside the shop for your convenience. The past few weeks have been full of so many emotions. Fear, sadness, frustration and above all GRATITUDE. Gratitude for the frontline workers and public service workers. All the doctors, respiratory therapists, nurses, hospital staff, first responders, pharmacists, police, firefighters, EMTs, delivery drivers, restaurant workers, grocery store employees, truck drivers and so many more for their service and dedication in such a trying time. To everyone putting themselves on t...he frontlines... THANK YOU a million times over! We are so grateful for you! In our family we have Sheri, who is a respiratory therapist and Danny & Charlie, who are both firefighters. We are SO proud of them, inspired by them and admire their bravery and commitment to their craft day in and day out. They are our heroes! I’m sure most of you who have been in the shop have heard the story about the boy with the ever-growing feet (Paul’s favourite story!). Well... that’s Sam! Sam’s feet have been known to grow a size (or 3) between his sizing and fitting appointments. BUT... we have done it! We have found Sam the perfect fitting skates (his words) and he is ready to hit the ice! Can’t wait to hear how much you love your new skates, Sam! Happy skating!

The first time Tessa and Scott took the ice at Budweiser Gardens (formerly the John Labatt Centre) was at the Canadian Championships back in 2005. The past 15 years they have created SO many unforgettable moments for us at this arena. We are looking forward to watching them on home ice one last time tonight at Rock The Rink for what we are certain will be a very special night for all. We you Tessa & Scott- thank you for EVERYTHING!

With the skating season about to be in full swing, a friendly reminder about the importance of making sure your skater has skates that fit properly! Here at Moirs we are VERY passionate about making sure all skaters have the perfect fit when it comes to their skates. Happy feet = happy skater! With over 35 years of experience, we know how important it is to have skates that fit properly. Having skates that fit properly can propel your skater to do great things with their ska...ting. Unfortunately, on the other hand, having skates that do not fit properly (skates that are too big) can be detrimental to skaters development, and quite often leaves you with a frustrated, unhappy skater. We strongly recommend that skaters have the proper fitting skates for right NOW and that you never purchase skates on the bigger side anticipating that your skater will grow into the skates. ‘Tis that time of year! Yet another busy skating season is upon us, so we have extended our hours to serve you better! Attention : During this busy time, on Tuesdays and Thursdays skate sharpening will be available from 12pm-7pm. You are more than welcome to drop off your skates and Paul will sharpen them when he gets in to the shop at noon! For all the other days of the week (Wednesday, Friday & Saturday) skate sharpening will be available open to close! Thank you for your understanding!
