Today we are recognizing one of our donorsDoug Shepherd. Here is his story: I headed to Regina to pick-up my wife from the airport and thought I was going to pass out. I took some medication, but it did not help. When I made it home, I went to bed and woke up suddenly at 2:00 a.m. with chest pains. My wife made me go to the hospital. When we arrived at the Emergency Room, the nurse took one look at me and said, you’re having a heart attack, and the medical team sprang in...to action. Within minutes, Dr. Majhid and five health care professionals raced to save my life. While fear overtook me, the medical team reassured me that everything was going to be okay. Hours later, I woke up in the Intensive Care Unit of the Moose Jaw Union Hospital with a vast array of tubes attached to his body. I was so impressed with the professionalism, knowledge of the staff and the care they showed me. I received 24-hour continuous care from an outstanding critical care team. I believe it is important for everyone to support the new Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, so when life changes in a heartbeat, the medical staff will have the equipment they need to help save a life. Please support the Moose Jaw Health Foundation. Hospitals can be a scary place for kidsbut because of the generosity of Foundation donors, there are many more bright smiles in the Pediatrics Ward. Each year, hundreds of children in Moose Jaw and surrounding area utilize the services of the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital Pediatrics unit. We’ve introduced a new era of healthcare for our children and their families at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital with large private rooms so parents can stay with their child...ren with the latest medical equipment. Each year many donors and organizations contribute urgently needed funding to purchase medical equipment to help children on their road to recovery. Donate today: https://bit.ly/3gxXopO
Sometimes we don’t realize how much we need our healthcare workers until we find ourselves in their care. Help support our healthcare workers and the important work that they do every single day by considering giving to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation in support of healthcare in our city and beyond. There are many ways to support the Moose Jaw Health Foundation either through a memorial gift, a tribute gift, planned giving, or a one-time donation.... Today, we are celebrating an ER nurse at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital Vi Reaman. Here is her story: I’m proud to support the Moose Jaw Health Foundation. The Foundation asked me to share my story, because I can tell you about the importance of good health care from both sides of the bed as a nurse and as a cardiac patient. When I was 60, I experienced pain in my upper chest. For women, this is a typical symptom of gallbladder trouble. But two days later, I woke ...up with horrible pain in both arms. We called 911 and the paramedics came and hooked me up to an ECG, which told them right away it wasn’t my gallbladder it was my heart. I got the care I needed, and the cardiologist was able to put in stents. By 9:20 that morning, I was sitting up in a Coronary Care room having a ginger ale. Those four hours were life and death for me. My own experience confirmed what I’ve always known: up-to-date equipment is essential in modern medicine. Please support the Moose Jaw Health Foundation. Your gifts are greatly appreciated. Thank you Vi, and to everyone else that helps contribute to our healthcare here in Moose Jaw and surrounding areas!

Over the years, the MJH Foundation has been fortunate enough to receive donations from generous families in Moose Jaw looking to give back to their community. Mark Mullen and his family are one of these generous donors. We, like so many others in this community, recognize that we have an obligation to do all that we can to ensure that the present outstanding level of health care provision is maintained into the future. The expression of gratitude from the Moose Jaw Health F...oundation for our past donations has been heart-warming. Equally gratifying has been the understanding that those donations have helped to make an already great system even better. Thank you to Mark & his family and to all of our donors over the years!
Nothing says Christmas like family, sweaters, cozy blankets, cookies, and fireside hot cocoa! Thank you to Wayne & Tammy Erskine for your donation to the 2020 Festival of Trees. We know this one will be well enjoyed this Christmas!

The lights are officially turned on! Thanks to Urologist Dr. Chun Huang and members of the surgical team that flipped the switch on our giant Christmas tree in the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital lobby. We are lighting up the holidays with a giant Rockefeller tree in the hospital lobby with a Christmas tree designed after the famous tree in Rockefeller Plaza in New York. ... Each Festival, we auction the naming sponsorship of the "Light Up the Holidays Tree" at Festival of Trees. This year Murray GM was the winning bidder at Festival of Trees with a $16,600 sponsorship. Funds from the Rockefeller Tree will go towards the Urology campaign to purchase the next generation of urological surgical equipment. In the last six years, the Light Up the Holidays Tree has raised over $103,350 to help patients at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. Every donation makes a difference, regardless of the size. For more information on donating to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation Campaign, please visit mjhf.org.
