GOOD NEIGHBOUR PROGRAM - https://www.mrpmchristmashamper.org/donate#sponsor In these unprecedented times we have had to determine the safest way to deliver our program to protect you, our sponsors; the families that we provide for and our volunteers. In 2019 we assisted 400 families The process this year will be quite different, and hopefully it's only this year.... We have brought the Good Neighbour in line with the overall program and should you wish to participate this year we are requesting $75 gift cards per child, in $25 denominations. Suggested stores where there are a range of items are London Drugs; Shoppers Drug Mart; SportChek; Walmart; EB Games; Michael's; Super Store, Black Bond Books. This will allow families to shop in either Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows (a number of families have mobility/transport challenges). Grocery cards can be purchased for any store and we have a cost guide based on the size of the family. Should you be able to cover only the gift cards for the children, we can provide the grocery gift card. All gift cards will need to be delivered to the Christmas Hamper office as we will need to sanitise them before placing them into an envelope for the families to pick up. Should you prefer to make a donation and we purchase the gift cards on your behalf, you can drop by the office; mail a cheque or send funds through PayPal - https://www.mrpmchristmashamper.org/donate10 We know that most GN's delivered the hampers to the families homes and fully appreciate that you used this program to teach your children the importance of giving. However, we need to be part of the solution and not add to the problem and this is the best approach. We have been in touch with health ministers and other government offices to discuss previous 'plans' but as the numbers have increased there is no other alternative. We realise that this is a very different manner of conducting the Good Neighbour program, and I'm also sure that we may not have thought of everything but we are determined to deliver in the safest and most efficient way. Please contact us if you have any questions.
GIFT CARD DRIVE THROUGH CANCELLED.but please read on to learn how you can donate to our society. The event was planned to lift the spirits of so many of us; Santa and Mrs. Claus were going to be on site with many pretty lights and Christmas music. We were hoping to make a little magic in our community for families in these unprecedented times. Due to the rising number of positive cases we have had to cancel the gift card drive through drop off which we were planning to host ...on Saturday 5th December but we will be at the Hamper office from 10 am 4 pm that day to collect gift cards and monetary donations. We will also be at the office on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week between the hours of 10 am 12noon. We had already agreed to administer the program purely with gift cards to reduce contact and exposure of the families that we assist when they would have been toy shopping in the Toy Barn; selecting items for Rudolph’s Recycle Gift Shoppe and Kid’s Only where the children would select a gift for their parents to place under the tree for Christmas Day. We suggest that PayPal is the most secure and safest way to support the families that are applying - https://www.mrpmchristmashamper.org/donate10 We request that Gift Cards be in $25 denominations ($75 will be allocated to each child but they may not wish to have the entire amount from one store only). The options for families to select from (we have identified stores where a variety of items such as toys; clothing; cosmetics; electronics are available) are Black Bond Books; London Drugs; Shoppers Drug Mart; Walmart; Superstore; EB Games; Sports Chek and Michael’s. Families will also receive a grocery store gift card; the value varies according to the size of the families. Should you wish to donate, we would request that you please place the gift cards in a plastic bag with the date, your name, address, phone number and email address. This information will be used to issue tax receipts in January. If you require further information, please contact us via email or visit - https://www.mrpmchristmashamper.org/ https://www.facebook.com/mrpmchristmashamper Our sincere thanks to each and every one for your generous support.

We have such wonderful community minded young people in our town. Harley who is a pupil at Golden Ears Elementary started her book drive 5 years ago and has collected over 1000 brand new books for kids at Christmas. It stared with a friend of hers at school collecting pyjamas for kids at Christmas and she was inspired to do something of her own. She struggled with dyslexia and the bedtime routine was always reading a story with her mum before bed. Harley wanted other kids to have a new book on Christmas Eve to read with their families. So here she is 5 years later thanks to the help of friends and family, shes been able to donate an amazing number of books in our community. An amazing accomplishment. Thank you Harley, youre an amazing young lady.

The spirit of Christmas is alive and well in Stan, 9 year old Albion Elementary pupil. Stan donated part of his birthday money to the Hamper to help ensure families have a meal and gifts.
Santa Trains West Coast Express Santa Trains will run on Dec. 7 and 14 this year and are a great kick-off to the holiday season... and for such a worthy cause. The Santa Train departs Mission City at 10 a.m., and stops at all WCE stations along the way. Once in Vancouver, you can enjoy a day of holiday sights and sounds before returning home from Waterfront Station at 4 p.m.... What makes the Santa Trains special, is that we give you a free WCE ticket in exchange when you bring along a new, unwrapped toy donation (worth about the same as a WCE pass) for your community toy bureau. Its a great way to give to those in need in your community, and have a fun-filled day at the same time. Please bring your entire family and invite all of your friends, and help make Christmas brighter for kids in your community. The West Coast Express North Pole Station (at Waterfront) will be open as of 2:45 p.m. for holiday activities and a photo op with Santa. And dont forget the generous folks at Dairyland provide a taste of egg nog while you wait for your trip home. So bring your camera and your Christmas cheer, and well see you there! 2019 Santa Train Schedule Dec. 7 and 14 Station Westbound Time Eastbound Time Mission 10 a.m. 5:15 p.m. Port Haney 10:19 a.m. 4:54 p.m. Maple Meadows 10:25 a.m. 4:48 p.m. Pitt Meadows 10:29 a.m. 4:44 p.m. Port Coquitlam 10:39 a.m. 4:34 p.m. Coquitlam 10:45 a.m. 4:29 p.m. Port Moody 10:50 a.m. 4:24 p.m. Waterfront 11:15 a.m. 4 p.m.
