The NBGA Board of Directors and Kingswood Gymnastics has agreed that, out of an abundance of caution, the 17th Annual Christmas Claus - NBGA 1st MAG & WAG Qualifier/1st TG Cup will be canceled. We feel that this is the most responsible decision we can make at this time to protect the health and safety of our athletes and coaches, and to support our province's efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 as we head into the holiday season. While we wish we could delay this decisio...n further, we recognize that continued uncertainty surrounding the competition would add an additional layer to the stress that we are all facing. We encourage our athletes to remain focused in their preparation for the rest of the competition season while continuing to closely follow club protocols designed to keep the gymnastics environment safe for everyone. We look forward to seeing you all in the new year!

The NBGA Board of Directors met last evening to discuss the move back to the Orange Phase for the Moncton health region, particularly as it relates to our plans for the first qualifying competitions scheduled for December 4-6 and December 12-13. We will continue to monitor the situation over the next several days and seek further clarity on Public Health's changes to Orange Phase restrictions as they relate to organized sport. We appreciate everyone's patience as we navigat...e this quickly changing COVID environment and assess the feasibility, safety, and responsibility of hosting competitions in December. In the meantime, we wish to remind clubs of the importance of adhering to public health measures within gymnastics facilities and ask that you review and reinforce your policies related to screening measures, physical distancing, use of face masks, and hand hygiene. Thank you to everyone for your continued efforts to make your clubs a safe place for gymnasts, coaches, and volunteers to participate in our sport.

The New Brunswick Gymnastics Association's 2020 Annual General Meeting will take place virtually via Zoom on Sunday November 8 at 10:30am. Elections for positions on the Board of Directors will be held during the AGM. The Board of Directors is seeking candidates for the positions of President, Vice-President, and Director - Recreational Programs Representative. Nominations may be submitted by member clubs to the NBGA until October 25; nominations may also be made from the f...loor at the AGM.
