#Repost @dr.natalieng --- Did you know that at least 50% of pregnant women will experience back pain? The average healthy weight gain is said to be ~30lb! The growing bump can put excessive stress and strain on the back, hips, knees, and the feet/ankles, and can lead to altered posture and function. During the 3rd trimester, the hormone relaxin increases, causing joints to become looser to accommodate for the growing uterus and eventually birth. The loosening of joints can... decrease stability, causing surrounding musculature to work harder, resulting in an increased risk of pain and injury. : Lower back pain Upper back pain Pelvic pain and pressure Ache in legs and buttocks Leg cramping Sciatic pain (down the leg and foot) Wrist pain Swelling : / : Chiropractors provide a safe, drug-free, and conservative approach to care, which includes spinal manipulative therapy, joint mobilization, and soft tissue therapy to alleviate pain caused during pregnancy. : Chiropractors can recommend safe and effective exercises to prepare your body for delivery, reducing the risk of complications. : Chiropractic care does not stop once you’ve given birth! With the proper postnatal care, you will be set up for a successful recovery period, so that you can get back to the things you love, sooner! See more
