A couple weeks back a barge sank off Bowman island and was and from shore looked like it might have been close to the Dorman point Glass sponge reef. The team d...id a dive to survey the reef and check if any damage was done. Luckily it missed the reef! The team spent 60 min at 130ft and we were able to film the entire reef. Only damage to report was from small prawn traps in a number of spots. Thanks to @ataylor947 and Glen for their support and guidance. Thanks to @marcjeanpalay for always being there when we need you! @a.oxox Amy you did a great job with handling the video lights #shearwaterresearch #diveshearwater #lightandmotiondive #lightandmotion #howesound #bc #ocean #reefs #divelife #saveourplanet #glassspongeteam See more

The structure of the Cloud Sponges. Sometimes they really are like clouds, and sometimes they are like the skeletons of ancient giant monsters. Finally I managed to shoot a video. The visibility was excellent and the focus didn't float. Diving near Egmont. The wall was covered by them.
