QUINTE CATTLEMENS STOCKER SALES (Next sale date Friday, January 29) Hi Everyone,... This is notice that the date for the next Quinte Stocker Sale has been, CHANGED FROM FRIDAY, JAN. 15 TO FRIDAY, JAN. 29. This decision has been made because of the present closure of the Cargill plant due to Covid-19 problems. The disruption to the flow of finished cattle resulting from the plant closure has created a backlog that will undoubtedly reduce feedlot space, resulting in an artificially reduced demand for feeder replacements. It is our hope that the extra two week delay in the sale date will give extra time for markets to return to a more normal flow and provide the expected returns for excellent quality stocker cattle. This notice is being given early enough to get the word out to consignors and buyers alike. If the desired return to normal markets has not occurred in the extra time frame, there is the option of a further delay in the sale date. Any adjustments in that case would be given good advance notice but, as it stands, JAN. 29, 2021, IS THE NEW SALE DATE. We wish you as joyous a Christmas Season as the social circumstances permit and we all hope that 2021 will see a return to a more "normal" lifestyle. Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, and Stay Positive. Denton Meiklejohn
