Another great week in Cabin 3A

Beautiful first evening. 12 more to go in our northern paradise

We had a great time last week. This was our second year. My youngest was proud of his catch but isn’t a fan of touching them. We had a few lines get pulled hard and fast and then snap. We can’t wait to get back next year.

As some may already know, this past weekend on August 8th specifically, was an extremely special day for Charlene and I. Our daughter Kaitlin married her best ...friend Zak Frappier on the front dock at the Lodge followed by an outdoor event and spectacular evening. We could not have asked for better weather on their special day with a high of 27C or 86F with a mix of sun and cloud and a nice soft breeze for the day. We would like to take the time to first thank all of our guests who accommodated us on the Saturday check-in to allow for a beautiful ceremony performed by Kevin Mercer at 3:30 PM to go uninterrupted. This day could not have gone as smooth as it did without many special employees, family and friends and all their help. A huge thank you to our staff Simone Mongeon, Charlene Geauvreau, Lorraine Crabbe, Shirley Morley, Dave Crabbe, Michelle Alston and Loral Gingerich whom worked weeks in preparation to host app 50 guest’s. The Cabins / Food / Beverages were all top notch. Everything looked fantastic, the cabins, the grounds and so many compliments on all the food from the appetizers, main course to the Stromboli served for the late-night snack. A thank you to the hair dressers Brigitte Courchesne and Anne Beaulieu for doing all the hair, and to Courtney the make-up girl for making what were already beautiful people look like princess’s. To Blue Mandolin Catering and their staff for providing a fabulous meal, served in a timely manner / warm and beautifully presented. All Shelter Sales & Rentals for providing outdoor tents, chairs tables and linens, Tammy Fortin our photographer for going beyond and taking a snapshot in time for all to remember. Also, not to be forgotten our friends and family; Especially our son Sebastian, Joel, Summer, Zara and Ryder, Rick, Zoe and Kaiya, Roxanne & Guy Morin, Leslie & Mike Polci, Tim & Kim Aikenhead, Jeanine & Pierre Frappier, Caitlin Frappier and Grandparents, Judy & Kevin, Josee, John & Bonnie, Lilly & Laurier. The Girls wedding party and DJ Matt Pothier. They all contributed greatly to making the 8th of August a special day. From weeks to days to the morning of the big DAY and into the evening and the day after, they helped from painting to tending newly made gardens, building decorating of the pergola / flower boxes, prepping and decorating the tent/ tables / chairs / centerpieces, looking after our office during the day, helping with greeting guest’s and providing assistance with check-in’s, traveling food to and from the tents, cleaning up. Providing the home made red and white wine and homemade dessert and beautiful wedding cake. Doing a great job at MC’ ing, setting up a great slide show of the newly married couple and having great intuition into the music to be played to carry the evening into the early hours of the next day. In closing, it was a happy and proud day for Charlene and I to see our daughter Kaitlin and our son in law Zak get married at Memquisit as per their wishes. Despite all the Covid mess going on in the world, this brought a feel of normalcy even if just for a day. The experience of Memquisit is hard to forget once you have been here. This day will definitely never be forgotten. Thank you to all whom had a helping hand in making the day great for all who joined us and those who sent their congratulations by email, mail, social media messages and by phone.
