We are reporting 21 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the TBDHU region. These are cases #166-186. There are currently 56 active cases of COVID-19 in the region.... The majority of the cases reported today are associated with the Adult and Teen Challenge outbreak of last week or the exposure at pickleball. At this time, the Adult and Teen Challenge outbreak has resulted in 24 confirmed cases; the number of pickleball-related confirmed cases is 29. All individuals with COVID-19 and high risk contacts are in isolation and will remain in isolation until cleared by public health. TBDHU will continue to monitor and provide support until the full risk period is over. Further cases may occur in individuals at high risk who are currently isolating. Last evening, North McIntyre Rec Centre became aware that our Pickleball program may be exposed to Covid. All pickleball participants were advised to contact the Thunder Bay District Health Unit. In light of this situation, our Pickleball program will be suspended until further notice. None of our other programs are affected at this time. If you have any questions, please contact the Health Unit. Stay safe everyone!

June is Seniors Month in Ontario, and Canadas National Ballet School (NBS) is recognizing the incredible community of seniors that participate in NBS onsite and online classes while also welcoming new friends. Using your digital device, join seniors across the country for this interactive dance event! The event is one hour long and will include opportunities to dance-along with live accompaniment, interviews and voices of strong and inspiring seniors. Submit your answer to win ...1 of 5 awesome prize packs each with over $100 of local goodies! How to enter: Submit art of your choice (e.g. audio clip, drawing, poem, anything!) showing us what Lake Superior means to you, in the language of your choice! Email us at [email protected] and attach your artwork or link us to an online file folder (dropbox, google drive). In the email, include your NAME, AGE, LOCATION, and your favourite aquatic animal and you will automatically be entered in the draw! Entries must be from youth 2-18 years old. We will put all of the art together and animate it into a masterpiece, your masterpiece! Maybe youll even see your drawings come to life! Deadline to enter is July 1.
