God will visit you again ‘Thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.’ Job 10:12 KJV... There’s no cure for past pain like present desire. When the longing for something is powerful enough, it can wipe out the pain of the past, enabling you to rise again with renewed energy and purpose. If you ask women who have experienced the pain of childbirth whether it was worth everything they went through, many would be willing to go through it again to experience the joy of holding that little one in their arms. Maybe you’ve experienced a tragedy that has left you feeling indifferent about the future, or a heartbreak that still has you reeling in pain. You may have tried to rationalise it by telling yourself, ‘As long as I don’t care, it won’t hurt.’ The fear of being hurt again is very real; a burned child dreads the fire. But you can’t live the rest of your life in fear. Job lost his health, his wealth, and his children in a single day. How did he get through it? He said, ‘Thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.’ God is not finished with you. He will visit you again! Job’s story ends with these words: ‘The Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before’ (Job 42:10 KJV). And God can do the same for you. Be encouraged He has a better future for you: ‘If you devote your heart to him and stretch out your hands to him, if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent, then, free of fault, you will lift up your face; you will stand firm and without fear. You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by’ (Job 11:13-16 NIV).

EMPOWERED LIVING! You're in this world and not of it. This means that you are different from the inhabitants of the earth. As a Christian, you cannot do anything everyone does because you are set apart from the world. Due to your uniqueness, the world might try to make you feel bad for who you are and who you follow but do not budge. Stay strong and committed to the cause of Christ and you shall be rewarded.... In this season of teaching on living by the Spirit, it’s understanding and recognizing that the empowered life is the life led by the Holy Spirit. It is God in us, inspiring us with divine knowledge and wisdom. Let us be consistent and persistent in our intercession and prayer and declare that all power belongs to my Father and He has endowed me with His power through Jesus Christ. God has lifted me above principalities and powers. God has equipped me to live in righteousness. In the name of Jesus, I shall not fail my heavenly Father. I declare by the grace of God that I shall honor Him by my righteous living in the name of Jesus.EMPOWERED LIVING! Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful We stand on Christ because He is the only foundation we can build on. Christ is our only hope for survival. Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful. Our hope is in Elohim, He is the only one we can look up to. No matter where you start from in life, God will get you where He promised. Faint not, when you get to see how beautiful your destination is, you will appreciate the struggles that came with the journey. Acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Let your heart be settled that He is the way, the Truth and the Life. Believe that no man can come to the Father except by Jesus. He is the only link between God and man. Jesus stands above all who claim to lead us to God. He is God. Declare by divine authority that because we have Jesus, we shall never be confounded in His mighty name.

Don’t Rush Your Breakthrough! Ever watched water as it flows freely in a continuous cycle from its fountain and wondered how it seemingly never ends? Though you can’t see it, you know there’s a source behind its operationsomething that’s keeping the water flowingand it brings you joy. That’s how it is in the life of a believer. When you become born again, your life changes for the good. Second Corinthians 5:17, The Message, says, The old life is gone; a new life emerges! ...Everything about you is now designed to bring joy to those around you. The life and love that flow from you will open their eyes as you share the saving message of Jesus Christ and the new life He brings. In other words, the bad that was flowing from youthe evil influences that come as a result of being part of the sin in the world’s systemis no longer part of you. You are, as Psalm 36:9 says, the fountain of life, the light by which we see (New Living Translation). You may not notice the change right away, but in time you will. And so will others. God has promised that rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me (The Message). Just be patient, and don’t rush the breakthrough of that supernatural flow. Thank God for changing you and for making you a fountain from which flows the living water of life. See more

Cultivate an awareness of God’s presence ‘Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it.’ Genesis 28:16 NIV... Jacob lived life on the fast track doing business deals and making lots of money, unlike David who was on the slow track tending a flock of sheep in his pasture. But notice what each of them said about God. ‘When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.’ On the other hand, David said: ‘I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure’ (Psalm 16:7-9 NIV). Notice the difference? Jacob was so busy that he failed to recognise God’s voice or cultivate an awareness of His presence. But David said, ‘I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.’ Those words are perhaps the simplest and best definition of spiritual life. The Bible says, ‘We have the mind of Christ’ (1 Corinthians 2:16 KJV). You say, ‘What does that mean to me?’ It means that the indwelling Christ can think His thoughts through you. Isn’t that wonderful? When you have a feeling of reassurance, or a sense of guidance, or you feel the conviction of sin, it means God is present with you. So pay attention and honour His presence by responding to Him. Perhaps you’ve always wondered what it means to ‘walk with God’. Now you know.

*Living Is Giving* ‘They gave not only what they could afford, but far more.’ 2 Corinthians 8:3 TLB If you want to be like Jesus, forget about yourself and live for others, for that’s what He did! Listen: ‘For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.’ (Mark 10:45 NIV) Don’t pray for a generous heart; practice being generous and your heart will follow. Become a sower, and God will give you more seed (2 Corinthians... 9:10). If He’s not giving you all the seed you want, it could be that you haven’t become a sower yet. And always do more than you’re expected to do. Rebecca did that, and she became the bride of Isaac and the inheritor of all Abraham’s blessings (Genesis 24). Have you any idea how much water one thirsty camel can drink? Well, she watered a whole train of them for a perfect stranger, and even though she didn’t know it, she was writing the resumé for her future. Don’t pass up an opportunity to give or to be gracious, for you’ve no idea whose camels you’re watering. Instead of always having to be the bride at the wedding and the corpse at the funeral, learn to put others first. Follow the example of the Macedonians. Listen, ‘They gave not only what they could afford, but far more their first action was to dedicate themselves to the Lord and to us, for whatever directions God might give to them through us.’ (2 Corinthians 8:35 TLB) Now there’s a formula for making your life count!

Shun unhealthy self-focus (4) ‘My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.’ Psalm 25:15 NIV... Hannah Whitall Smith writes: ‘It is no use for us to examine self, and tinker with it in hope of improving it. The thing the Lord wants us to do is to get rid of it.’ Your old nature is determined to hold your attention; it would rather be thought of badly than not at all. In the process of examining your flesh and feeling miserable, you’re apt to think you are being humble, honest, and spiritual. But the only spiritual and safe way to handle your fleshly nature is to consign it to the ‘ignore file’, and anchor your attention and expectations exclusively on the Lord. David understood how this principle worked: ‘My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare.’ Looking at your own ‘clay feet’ (weaknesses and failures), and the ‘snare’ (your unregenerate flesh) you’re tangled in, won’t free you from the trap. You’ll just end up further entangled. Only God, together with your cooperation, can release you from the trap of the flesh. Keeping your ‘eyesever on the Lord’ is His way of giving you the victory. Listen again to what David said: ‘I keep my eyes always on the LordI will not be shakenYou make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand’ (Psalm 16:8-11 NIV). Your job is simple, though not necessarily easy. It’s to ignore your fleshly cravings and stay focused on Jesus. His job is to transform you by His mighty power!

KNOWING AND ENJOYING GOD’S WILL ‘The LORD is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.’ Lamentations 3:25 NLT... If you’re struggling spiritually today, here are three thoughts that will help you : First, realise that doing God’s will isn’t supposed to be easy. Satan, your enemy, gives up nothing without a fight, and anxiety is one of his secret weapons. That’s why the Bible says, ‘Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up’ (Galatians 6:9 NLT). Overcomers aren’t necessarily more educated or more talented than other people, they’re just more persistent. They push beyond the point at which others quit. Second, believe that God’s will is for your total well-being. You are the offspring of a perfect God, so act like it. His covenant with you is forever, so think like it. Your total well-being is His desire and delight, so live like it. The apostle John wrote: ‘I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth’ (3 John v. 2 KJV). Third, reach by faith for what God has promised you. Sickness acts like a thief. It can rob you of time with those you love, money that could be used to achieve your goals, and energy needed to fulfil God’s purpose for your life. The prophet Isaiah said, ‘Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrowsand by His stripes we are healed’ (Isaiah 53:4-5 NKJV). At the cross, Jesus purchased everything you need. So rise up in faith today and claim it, because as the Scripture says, ‘The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.

SHUN UNHEALTHY SELF-FOCUS (3) ‘Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life.’ Ephesians 4:22 NLT... Does God expect us to work on growth and self-improvement? Yes! But just as examining yourself is futile, so is trying to change if it keeps you self-focused and defeated. The Bible’s path to change is to turn away from self and focus on Christ. Paul says, ‘We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to gloryby the Spirit of the Lord’ (2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV). God isn’t interested in improved flesh. In His eyes ‘improved flesh’ is still flesh. He’s in the character-transformation business, not the self-improvement business. All your self-improvement strategies can’t transform your old self-nature. Only God, ‘by the Spirit’, can make you more Christ-like. As you ‘behold [look at and study] as in a mirror [the Word of God]’ you become ‘transformed into the same image [the image of God you’re looking at] from glory to glory [grade to grade]’. It doesn’t happen because of your grit, but because of His grace. ‘So what will happen to my flesh?’ you ask. God’s ultimate plan is to replace it and give you a new heavenly body. That’s why Paul writes: ‘Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.’ No altering, adjusting, and patching-up allowed you must ‘throw it off’! Like a lobster growing and shedding the confinement of its old shell, as you focus on and fellowship with Christ, you are released from the dominance of your old nature and grow into your new one. You’re transformed from the inside out.

Refined for service 'I have refined you in the furnace of suffering.' Isaiah 48:10 NLT Never become jealous of someone else's talent. And don't be intimidated by it, because the God who called and equipped them will use you too. When you learn to appreciate and applaud the gift of God in someone else's life, you put yourself in a position where he can bless you as well. The fact is, we're all necessary to God's plan. The Bible says, 'God has set the members, each one of them,... in the body just as he pleased' (1 Corinthians 12:18 NKJV). God sets and God allocates! So seek him and you'll find your assignment. Why did Jesus say, 'Many are called, but few chosen' (Matthew 20:16 NKJV)? Part of the answer is found in these words: 'I have refined you, but not as silver is refined. Rather, I have refined you in the furnace of suffering' (Isaiah 48:10 NLT). You need more than just a calling - you need character in order to have credibility. And that means spending time in the refiner's fire. Generally speaking, it's not your calling that gets you into trouble; it's your character - or lack of it! God says: 'I want to see how you respond under pressure. When you want a yes, but you have to live with a no. When you desire to be in public ministry, but you're assigned to a back room.' God is a wise businessman; he doesn't put untested merchandise in his window. So what 'furnace of suffering' are you in today? Are you feeling the heat of the refiner's fire? If so - rejoice! When you come out, you'll be equipped and ready for service. And that's the word for you today!

Shun Unhealthy Self-Focus (2) ‘Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching.’ Luke 12:37 When dealing with self-focus, you may ask, ‘What about those Scriptures that specifically tell us to watch? Aren’t they all about keeping an eye on ourselves?’ That’s a good question, so let’s take a look at some of those ‘watch’ passages in Scripture.... In Mark 13:3437 NKJV, we read: ‘A man going to a far country left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is comingin the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morninglest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!’ What Jesus was teaching here is the exact opposite of self-focus. The doorkeeper wasn’t to watch himself, but to watch for his returning master. Jesus expects us to forget ourselves, work conscientiously for His Kingdom, and be watching and prepared for His return. He said, ‘Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.’ Far from an obsessive self-introspection that leaves you exhausted, discouraged, and disappointed with yourself, Jesus wants you to be excited and involved in His work here on earth, to actively watch for the coming again of your Lord and King. ‘Look to Me [not to yourself!], and be saved For I am God, and there is no other.’ (Isaiah 45:22 NKJV) So focus more on Godand less on yourself.

HEALTHY SELF-FOCUS (2) Servants are fortunate if their master finds them awake.' Luke 12:37 CEV When dealing with self-focus, you may ask, 'What about those Scriptures that specifically tell us to "watch"? Aren't they all about keeping an eye on ourselves?' That's a good question, so let's take a look at some of those 'watch' passages in Scripture. In Mark 13:34-37 (NKJV) we read: 'A man going to a far country...left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each h...is work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming - in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning - lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!' What Jesus was teaching here is the exact opposite of self-focus. The doorkeeper wasn't to watch himself, but to watch for his returning master. Jesus expects us to forget ourselves, work conscientiously for his Kingdom, and be watching and prepared for his return. He said, 'Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them' (Luke 12:37 NKJV). Far from an obsessive self-introspection that leaves you exhausted, discouraged and disappointed with yourself, Jesus wants you to be excited and involved in his work here on earth, to actively watch for the coming again of your Lord and King. 'Look to me [not to yourself!], and be saved...For I am God, and there is no other' (Isaiah 45:22 NKJV). So focus more on God - and less on yourself.

Protect your spiritual life ‘The breath of the Almighty gives me life.’ Job 33:4 NKJV... You can put metal bars on the windows of your house, a security system in your car, video cameras in your business, and stash your prized belongings in a bank vault. But what are you doing to protect your most valuable possession, namely, your spiritual life? Elihu told Job, ‘The breath of the Almighty gives me life.’ When God breathes His spirit into you at the point of salvation, you become spiritually alive. Now you have the ability to love Him, serve Him, and bring pleasure to Him. And that’s what the enemy is after the part of God that’s inside you! And to get to it he will attack your body, wage war against your mind, and try to control you through habits, doubts, and fears. He will even work through other people, including close friends and family members. When God breathed into Adam, he became alive. He recognised who he was and what he was called to do in life. Don’t miss the lesson here! Until you recognise that God created and redeemed you for a purpose, other people will try to ‘breathe’ their identity and agenda into you. And that’s dangerous, because when someone can define you they can control you! ‘How can I protect myself?’ you ask. Live each day with a consciousness of the presence of God! The psalmist said, ‘You are my safe refuge, a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me. Let me live forever in your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of your wings!’ (Psalm 61:3-4 NLT). When you’re in that place of safety, the enemy can’t touch you or anything that is rightfully yours.

Are You Ready for the Miracles? Do you know anyone who can honestly say they prefer having bad things happen to them rather than receiving the goodness that God has to offer? I can’t think of a single person. That would make no sense. As God’s children, we are blessed with good things. Proverbs 10:22, New Living Translation, tells us, The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. That should be an encouragement to you as you begin this new wee...k. So, let me ask: Are you ready for God to do something miraculous for youto expand your borders and take you to places you never dreamed? Brother Oral Roberts used to say it like this: Something good is going to happen to you! Something good is exactly what God has promised to every born-again believer. And it’s because of that very promise that you can wake up every morning with a smile on your face, expecting God to do something wonderful and miraculous in your life. But even as you wait with expectancy for that something good to happen, don’t forget all the good God has already done in your lifebeginning with the day he saved you. And it’s gotten better and better with every passing day. In Exodus 34:10, New Living Translation, God told Moses: Listen, I am making a covenant with you in the presence of all your people. I will perform miracles that have never been performed anywhere in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people around you will see the power of the Lordthe awesome power I will display for you. God has a plan to fill your life with blessings and miracles. That’s the something good Brother Roberts was talking about. It’s what you should be believing and expecting every day as you prepare to receive from Him. Pray and purpose to keep your focus on God and stay in His presenceto be in the right position, the right place at the right time so you don’t miss what God has for you. Get ready to receive your miracles! See more

Healthy self-focus (1) 'Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith.' 2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV Self-focus isn't necessarily bad if it leads to spiritual growth. However, some people mistakenly assume that it's a biblical mandate! After all, didn't God tell us to 'examine ourselves'? So with that in mind we start to wonder - 'Do I measure up spiritually? Have I truly repented? Do I pray enough? Is God pleased with me?' The truth is, focusing on yourself can keep you f...eeling discouraged and defeated. Let's check and see what God actually says about self-focus. There are only two mentions of self-examination in Scripture, and neither teaches us to indulge in self-focus. First, Paul challenged the Corinthians about tolerating gross sin in their church. A man was having an affair with his stepmother and no one seemed bothered by it. And because they had 'not repented of the impurity, sexual sin and debauchery in which they...indulged' (2 Corinthians 12:21 NIV), Paul wrote, 'Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith' This isn't an invitation to self-focus, but a spiritual credential check-up. 'See whether you are in the faith' (2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV). Second, Paul corrected the Corinthians' behaviour during the Lord's Supper. Because some were getting drunk on communion wine, he said, 'Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup' (1 Corinthians 11:28 NIV). Paul's not suggesting you become fixated on your flaws, but on the liberating truth that Jesus paid the price for all your sin - past, present and future. In the Bible it says, 'Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith' (Hebrews 12:2 NIV). Growth, joy and victory lie in abandoning unhealthy self-focus and staying Christ-focused!
